They are not required to keep records for even six years, only for as long as applicable and the FSA recommend 6 years, it' not an absolute number.

As has been said, any Tom !!!!!! or Harry you phone and ask will not necessarily have access to any old accounts so you will have to send a DSAR and £10 to each company. If they come back with nothing, your complaints are over, no other company can magic doxuments out of thin air.
I don't know why you're angry, you didn't keep any records either.

And no, you can't complain twice about the same thing Well, you can, but you'll get the same response.

  • Hello

I have paid £10 - DSAR, however, I have received a cover letter stating Statements dated August 2013 - September 2013, January 2014 - March 2014, July 2014 - April 2015 statements could not be located.

Can you confirm if I am entitled for a full refund/partial refund or do I push for the missing Statements?

    Anticipating a favourable response.

    Much obliged

If the company agrees you were miss-sold they can use an average from known statements to cover the missing statements.

If you are an online banking customer the ones from 2015 should surely still be on there, otherwise just look at the paper copy you were sent - 1 month ago you should surely have a copy still!

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
