I don't think it's just Vauxhalls, I think other makers are dropping CD players too. I guess it saves car makers few quid, and also means they're removing a spinning mechanical thing which could go wrong. And of course the numbers of CDs being sold have dropped substantially. What car is it? Are you sure it doesn't have a CD player, most DAB radios still have one even if they do have a full complement of digital inputs.0 -
We have only satellite tv and poor radio signal here, along the road there is nothing at all. I've spent all bloody morning trying to do this and am ready to pull my hair out. I watched vids on youtube but when I try to do what they show me it doesn't work. Good mind to go back to the garage and cancel the damn car lol0

You could ask them to change the model (I believe some variants still have the CD) or, they may be able to fit a CD player with FM radio prior to delivery.

But living "up a hill in Scotland" there could well be no TV either, there was nothing other than very poor AM reception where I used to live and all broadcast media had to come through a satellite dish. The DAB radio in my car stopped working about 8 miles from home.
I have in-car DAB, I drive all over Scotland and there has been only one place (on the coast just south of Arbroath) where I haven't had a good enough DAB signal on the multiplex the BBC uses, even then I had the local stations.0 -

Well clearly you haven't driven "all over Scotland" as there are plenty of places with no DAB signal. As one example, it disappears on the A9 just north of House of Bruar.0
