OK, most of us on our debt free journey are skint. Now this can present challenges as to how to entertain ourselves and our families. It was no problem when we were in our spendy ways as we did what we wanted and simply stuck it on the card if we couldnt afford it! No More. But i am determined that we cant all just mope about and watch the telly.
So help me devise a plan for an action packed, fun filled and most importantly free (imaginary) month for myself and my two kids. I've started off with a couple of ideas but feel free to chip in, i reckon we can live an exciting life without money.
Can i suggest that activities for week days must last at least an hour, weekends 4 hours?
1st M - Art Night Indoors or out, find something interesting and spend an hour drawing it.
2nd T - Scrabble comp
3rd W - Wii Sport competition
4th T - Photography - choose a style/subject and see what we can come up with on our mobiles/i pads etc
5th F - Friday night film night - a quick plea on FB for anyone who can lend a decent DVD.
6th S - Stay at home camp - tent up in back garden - camp fire - singsong.
7th S - BBQ

Be a bug detective - go for a walk and investigate the creepy crawlies: free resources here: http://www.naturedetectives.org.uk/download/hunt_minibeasts.htmDebt at highest - June 2013 - 26k/ March 2018 - 2500

What ages are your kids?
If you have a digital camera (or phone I suppose) how about a photography competition? Or a funny photoshop competition on photos for each other.
Kite flying. If you don't have kites then one day spent making kites and another flying them? (making them can be very close to free if you google for a pattern).
Bike rides?
Nature treasure hunt in the local neighbourhood (may depend on your neighbourhood as to whether that is a good idea). (Edit I have just been informed that today's kids apparently go geocaching not treasure hunting!)A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

Day at the beach, lake or a walk in the wood with a homemade picnic basket
Cooking or baking. Teach them to cook and when they are older give them the challange to cook within a budget. Let them plan what to cook and shop for the ingredients themselves. This is still my childrens favorite passtime in their school holidays.
Find some fun free science projects you can make at home. Lots of great ideas on pinterest.com0 -
Another vote for the geocaching, great fun for all ages and quite addictive when you start to find a few!!!

Day out at the weekend visiting free museums? Natural History and Science museums usually have stuff aimed at kids. Take your own packed lunch and drinks to consume throughout the day, avoid the gift shopStarting 2016 debt-free

Visit to your local library?
You can borrow books, films and many libraries also have lists of local clubs and events.
Or you could research the history of your house/street/village.
