I work in a small Town in essex. The Town has only one petrol station and the next nearest is at least 4 miles away.
This station could charge whatever they want as they have a captive market. However, they are nearly allways cheaper than the supermarkets.
They are a a franchise and are currently selling Esso fuel.
Never been past without seeing at least 2 vehicles fueling up.Never Knowingly Understood.

RS200 you looking for a fight? Your posts here are so confrontational! Duuuuuuuude reeelaxxxx
On topic, that price is ridiculous to pay. Why pay so much when its generally 113 - 118p0 -
There used to be a garage round here that sold petrol way above average prices.
Turned out that petrol wasn't the only thing that you could buy there.
The high prices kept away people who weren't going to purchase goods from the shop.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

The one I mentioned has 2 shops opposite so is not able to capture the convenience store shoppers.Never Knowingly Understood.

There's a Gulf near me which charges about 20p more than average per litre.
I rarely see anyone filling up there. Just bizarre how it is still operating.0 -
Probably had a delivery just before the price dropped and got stuck with it. Given the choice of losing 20p/litre on a tanker load, or letting it sit there til it sells, they're a bit stuffed either way.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?0 -
Perhaps it's a sophisticated money laundering operation and all the people buying petrol are drug dealers and the difference goes into their offshore bank account :rotfl:
But looking on streetview, if you go back in time you can see loads of people using it and they don't seem to be taxi drivers.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
Or perhaps it's because you can't see the Price sign before you pull into the forecourt
