thats a better picture to show the slope...
It looks much worse than in the marketing pictures, which may be an issue.
My other half gets excited by the EA pictures (which show the best and hide the worse), and is then disapointed when she sees the real thing.0 -

Maybe its because I live in a very 'hilly' area but that drive way slope is nothing to me! i would be surprised if thats puts people off. Some of the drives round here are almost vertical! :rotfl:0 -
Am I just too impatient . We had a couple round last Sunday their home is sold subject to contract so they have to look for a house quickly - they love our house but they also like an old cottage on the village main street. They told the estate agent they want a second viewing on both properties - but they will be going on holiday in 6 days for a week - then they will look at arranging a second viewing !!! The second viewing will be over 16 days since they first viewed and they need to move urgently as their house is sold????
UPDATE - Now had 13 viewings. Latest feedback : The windey road to the village from the city centre made me feel very sick, but the house was lovely. Also the quality of the amenties in the village is poor !!!
[We have sports field & pavillion , a village hall with many activities always, a pub, a tea room, a garage , a fish n chip shop, a store, a butchers, a post office, country walks, superfast broadband, great views]
Aaaaarrrrrgggghhhh:(0 -

People will spout any old rubbish to agents; sometimes because they don't want to give the real reason for fear of sounding foolish, and sometimes because the house just "didn't do it for them" but they can't put a finger on anything specific.
There are also those who have a yearning to live out of town, but then baulk at the 'problems,' as they see them.0 -
The problem is not the drive, mine is much steeper and we park 2 cars there facing downwards. It's more likely to be as others have said, too poky for a 5 bed, area looks a bit bland.0

Just to add my two pennoth, for what its worth, drive doesn't look steep to me - I don't think I'd have considered that, we live in Teesdale and ours is much steeper but going up. Also as far as winter access is concerned, if you live in this area, you get a suitable vehicle for winter. Also, I don't know if this is too obvious to state, but as two of the bedrooms are downstairs, what's to stop people who don't think there is enough living space using one of those as extra - a study or snug? So it doesn't have to have 5 bedrooms. Also, area looks fine to me. Only prob I would say is photos aren't great. Try getting them done again, better lighting, wide angle lense? We did that and sold straight away (however, our problem was getting viewings at all). Good luck - hold your nerve ( but get rid of fixed price - it just sounds inflexible) and the right person will come along!0

Tricky one. It's got a limited market due to number of bedrooms and price. So then it's down to whether people who could afford it and need that many rooms could see themselves living in it.
While it might look good on paper with an annexe-potential with the ground floor, the slopey drive then makes you wonder about mobility issues.
Another viewpoint is "ideal for working from home", especially with that superfast broadband, so might be OK for somebody who wants to work from home, maybe even receive clients and be able to offer them the loo without traipsing through the house .... but then there's the approach and bringing potential clients through a council estate and OAP bungalows.
Why did YOU buy it? What made it the house for you?0 -

Oh dear, one cannot pass through my village at all without going through both of those.
Fortunately I live 1/2 a mile away, so I can still send my guests the inoffensive, 'pretty' way, although that does involve going down Darkey Lane! :eek:0
