Hi Caggie
Got through to Canada yesterday afternoon as I had sent my IDs off around 2 weeks ago. They confirmed they had received my documents on Friday (5th june) so they will send my offer out within 20 days..... I asked why I had to wait another 20 days when I already waited 7 weeks for the letter about my address and they said that was their timescales but I could expect them to respond sooner.
They also said that although the letter to me said they would return the ID documents immediately, that they are allowed to keep them for up to 3 weeks for processing!!
So, at least they received my documents, am now in the waiting room again for the offer letter...zzzzzzz0 -
Hi
I was told yesterday that I would get my offer within the next couple of days and once I send my acceptance letter back it would take a couple of days to process and the payment should be sent 20 days after that. When i asked "so about a month in total" I got the reply "hopefully". We will see zzzzzzz indeed,0 -
Hi Caggie
Got my ID docs in the post today which totally surprised me considering they said they could hold them for 3 weeks!
The letter had a sticker on with my address and a dear sir/madam letter saying here are your documents we have kept a copy and that was all!
Will ring again tomorrow and ask when the offer will be out, guess the answer will still be 20 days!0 -
Got another letter today! They said they had received my ID and we're doing a redress calculation and if there was any redress to be paid it would be done within 20 days.
So i still don't know how much i might be or might not be getting! Don't know whether i get an offer letter or they just pay what they think is owed?0 -
They will only give you what you actually paid, including attendant interest and 8% simple interest depending...
There is no haggling unless you have proof you paid more.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Well... as promised during phone call to actual PPI department I received my offer in the post today, acceptance form signed and ready to post later today and then they have quoted 20 days to receive my cheque,
It still baffles me as to why they rejected my complaint in the first place given that I had provided exactly the same documentation. Perhaps my letter as a response to their rejection contained more information, but they would have known it was a front loaded loan when I first complained, so a bit naughty.Got another letter today! They said they had received my ID and we're doing a redress calculation and if there was any redress to be paid it would be done within 20 days.
So i still don't know how much i might be or might not be getting! Don't know whether i get an offer letter or they just pay what they think is owed?
I think these are just generic responses and can add to confusion, hopefully you will receive you written offer shortly.0 -
Hello all! Was reading this thread with interest. I recently received a letter from Canada Square advising me they were no longer the owner of my account (egg credit card closed back in 2006). The letter was dated 23/05/15 and they say they have referred my claim to Barclays! I'm wondering why that would be if there are others on this site still dealing with Canada Square - anyone any insight? Is this a ploy or something to put me off?0

Hi
This might help
"If your Egg Card or Egg Money account was closed before October 2011 or not transferred to Barclaycard, please print a PPI consumer questionnaire from the Financial Ombudsman Service website. Filling in the FOS PPI questionnaire helps us process your complaint as efficiently as possible."

Hi Caggie
Got another letter!! This time thanking me for the ID docs and saying they will shortly perform a redress calculation and write to me with full details.
It then says I will get a cheque within 20 working days of the calculation. I just wish I knew how long the calculation takes!!
Glad you finally got your offer!0
