2.5 years sounds very poor and sounds like a lemon rather than typical of the brand.
Our Bosch slimline died just before Christmas after 11 years. We had no hesitation buying another, currently with £50 off, although that makes it a similar price to what we paid in the Christmas sale!

When you put it in the shopping basket, another model appears and not the one that you have just been looking at.
Thanks for your help anyway. Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.0 -
Our slimline Miele dishwasher is 16 years old and has never given us any trouble.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

Thats very unfortunate for a Bosch product to die in just 2.5 years. However, you could try calling BSH customer service and raise your dissatisfaction about the life of this product. Chances are you will get some goodwill from them. We’ve had to remove your signature. A friend bought a built-in slimline Hotpoint two or three years ago and says it's brilliant. Not too noisy, lots of space inside (for a slimline model) and has several wash functions.
Hotpoint/Indesit don't have the best reputations but often it seems to be luck with how long domestic machines last.
I'm not too struck on Bosch quality these days, at the lower end of their ranges anyway.0 -
Mine is a very basic Indesit slimline model, works very well and there's not much to go wrong with it. It's about seven years old now so I feel we've really had our money's worth - I'd happily buy the same model again next time.0

FWIW, if the m/c is built-in, the equivalent Bosch free-standing ones are cheaper and can often be modified to fit into cabinets (mine even gave the instructions on how to do it!) - my first one lasted about 5-6 years before it got clogged up (hard water area) so now I run a cleaning compound cycle every few months and hope the current one will last longer.
PS: Bosch m/c's generally get the best WHICH ratings0
