Yep, DD2 really enjoyed these too. Quite often found in charity shops or at car boot sales fyi.

We have just finished culling our books to take some to the fete at the end of the month. horrible histories are once again staying safely on the shelves. They were excellent for our DD who is now a grown woman, and they are now enjoyed by younger visitors.

Never read the maths one but i had a few of the Horrible Histories ones and they were great! My mum used to buy whichever one i was doing in history at the time in primary school, i recall the victorians, tudors and the greeks ones, they really gave me more of an interest in my history lessons and were a fun way to learn about it. :)

Kids got a bundle of histories/maths/geog/science a few years back.

They are always dipping in and out of them, reading and re-reading. Loved in this house.

We got ours at a scholastic warehouse sale for £10 for a pack of 15 books. I don't know if you'll be able to get them from here, but worth keeping an eye out.

15yo son often does a culling of his books, but he is the same the Horrible books remain. We have mainly the History books as I bought a bundle from the mags kids fetch home from school. Son was a reluctant reader when young and much preferred non-fiction. These were ideal to encourage him.

Horrible history books are great! I credit them as the reason why DD got an A at History GCSE and is studying history at A level, in fact, it's noticable that her performance has tailed off as there aren't any A level history text books along the line of horrible history books!

Another vote for the Horrible History books - and the TV show.

You might be able to get a better price than the deal on ebay, but you'll be hard pushed to get better books for getting kids interested in learning about history - without them realising that's what's happening!

    Thanks :D

    I'll grab the sets.

Some sellers on eBay have them for £16, so The Works is falling in line with the current going rate. Unless you wanted the Black Box version, in which case you'll pay nearly double (this years updated covers maybe?)!

The Horrible Georgraphy series was written from 1999, so it's been out a few years now. Published by the Schooltastic.

Murderous Maths was written around the same time.

Will stick with the History, Science and Geography though I think :)

    Thanks all!
