I know exactly how the system works and how it is/was meant to work. I don't need to cut and paste a load of nonsense.

The OP can legitimately use her licence, as long as Microsoft allows her to activate it, either online or via Telephone activation.

Guess what side an organisation like the "Federation Against Software Theft" takes? Of course the side of the software producer.

    Here are two other links

    https://www.usedsoft.com/en/used-software/wiki/glossary/licence-law/oem-software/

    https://www.usedsoft.com/en/archive/press-archive/press-releases/2009/trade-with-microsoft-oem-licenses/

I have no intention of scaring the OP, just pointing out the legality of transferring an OEM licnece and showing links to it.

The Used soft case in interesting but brought in German courts so not binding here, and only about sales.

I come back to my prior point. Software may install and activate, but as you've violated the agreement the licence is void so its not a genuine install. Despite what you said Microsoft have deactivated windows copies in the past, both from pirated and over used OEM keys.

As you both know better than both Microsoft and the UK trade body (and yes I know they are a mouthpiece of the software companies) about the vendor licence agreement, there is no point continuing this.

I know people think Microsoft is a big company and won't notice, and its nice to stick it to the man. But think of it another way, what if you wrote software for a living, would you want people installing that software where they pleased and on as many computers as they can, regardless of any rules you put in place?

Linus Torvalds likes people installing software on as many computers as they can for free and with no activation or licensing shenanigans.

I personally find a Linux distro far easier to manage than a windows box any day.
Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.

....... and later upheld by the European Court of Justice - which is binding here

Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

So completely irrelevant in the case of the OP then? You keep referring to crude hacks, pirated software, and overused Royalty keys. Nothing to do with activating a self purchased OEM licence on a new Motherboard.

Thank goodness that you've agreed to stop posting your nonsense. Let's see if you stick to it.

    No scans ran.
It is a Zoostrom via Ebuyer:

    Processor
    3.20 gigahertz Intel Pentium Dual-Core
    64 kilobyte primary memory cache
    2048 kilobyte secondary memory cache
    64-bit ready
    Multi-core (2 total)

Board: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P5G41T-M LX2/GB Rev X.0x

251.00 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity

Have you retrieved the key using the Product Key viewer as advised?

Begin with a scan using Malwarebyte's AntiMalware(Download and Install) Choose to remove everything that is found.

Once completed, reboot and do the same using AdwCleaner

Once complete, reboot and repeat with the Junkware Removal Tool

After this, you should reset your Browsers.

I suspect that there is nothing wrong with your PC other than add-ons you may have installed and enabled.
The Intel Pentium E5800 @ 3.20GHz with 4GB of RAM is more than enough for general usage.
Is the Hard Disc partitioned? It's supposed to be 1TB. So you should be able to move your data over to perhaps the D: drive and to run a clean install on the C: drive if necessary.

Since when did the terms of software licenses start defining what behaviour is legal or illegal?

I thought that was Parliament's job.
