Any success with cancelling contracts???

Hi all,
After the fiasco of the mobile companies changing the usage of 0774 numbers for international calls, I attempted to get some form of a goodwill gesture from t-mobile, as I read that another member here had his free minutes doubled.
Luckily 9 or unluckily depending how you see it!) I used the 0774 numbers to call my mates abroad often.
Although I have contacted t-mobile and told them that I would cancel my contract if they did not increase my free minutes as a form of compensation, they as expected rang me back and fobbed me off would the usual stuff......
Just wondering once for all, did the companies breach the contarcts and if so can we cancel on these grounds without penalties such as negative credit etc etc.
p.s anyoen actually been successful please share your story!!
cheers

any ideas please???
want to ring them up today, so would really like to know if by changing the 0774 numbers gives us a chance to get out without any penalties.0 -
Orange is cuffing rubbish.
their customer service is rubbish and the disconnection team is worse. (bear in mind, anyone thinking of signing up for Orange). I thought 02 is rubbish, but orange make them look like god-sent.
I sent orange a letter to terinate on the 20th July, after the deadline to cancel penalty-free was extended. Nobody bothered to get back to me or acknowledge the receipt of the letter. (which was later claimed to be "not received" by Orange)
I have also sent a follow up email to the exec team, and am currently waiting for a reply. Would Imagine that they are being flooded with emails fron disgruntled customers, because of their incompetant Customer services team.
so my advice is give them a ring. and let me know how u get on. I will update you all on my situation.0 -
Just to add, I use 98% of my orange minutes to call 07744 numbers. so i was freaking !!!!ed when they told me i am not affected by the change. flipping idiots.0
