  • I applied for an EGG Loan a few years ago, after all the publicity and Martin's website I have now cancelled the PPI that I was sold, I was told I would have to include it? I now have called them and cancelled a few months ago and tried to find some info as EGG as said to me that basically in the 3 years or so I have been making repayments only 10% of it went to pay the loan and they took all the insurance money first?? Therefore now am stuck repaying the loan as if I just started it :( Anyone can help with some advice on how to go about this please?
  • i had a loan from firstplus and paid it off quickly. the loan included ppi and i too wrote to them with the first template asking for a portion of my money back to this they wrote back saying the same about the phone conversation so i wrote back with the second template and also resent the first letter too and added i would also like a copy of the conversation which took place.
i have just recived a letter offering me an enhanced rebate as a gesture of goodwill!.....

    many thanks

Received my response from capital one regarding PPI repayment, saying that the PPI was taken out over the phone in September 2001. That it would have been legally sold as they have a strict process in place etc...... Does this mean they have no proof it was requested and therefore I can claim through the courts? Anyone claimed back from Crap One?

I am trying to reclaim from FirstPlus, my loan was broked by Central Capital so I have been going through them, they have already after just one letter sent me their final replay saying no, so I am going to the Ombudsman, they too have said that I understood from the telephone conversations that they have what I was undertaking, I disagree I never ever understood that I was paying for the whole 25 years for something that only lasted me 5 years, I think it is disgusting that they can do this, it is a real rip-off, I honestly hand on heart thought that after 5 years they would contact me again and we would re-structure to include new PPI, this has always been my understanding and I stand by that. They seem very confident that the FO will not be able to help me so maybe I am fighting a lost cause, but I have to give it ago. Anyone in the same situation, I see lots of FisrtPlus queries on here so I guess there is.
Claimed back almost £4000 so far from HSBC for mis-sold PPI
£2083.00 + £242.00 8% interest from FirstPlus and lower monthly premiums:D Studio Cards paid off my account and gave me £125.00 in gift vouchers. £500.00 Barclays.
  • I have bought 2 cars from yes car credit since 2000, having fully paid one off, and with the second 13 months to run, when buying these vehicles we were told insurances were not optional as without them we could not have the finance to secure the purchase, and we have come to realise as have a lot of others, that this was not the case and in effect the insurances were missold, having been in touch with the owner of the now defunk YCC, (Direct Auto Finance), they refuse that any miss selling took place, and because we signed the agreement forms all was above board. even though we were not asked about pre existing medical conditions, (My lower back problems, and my wifes brain tumour operation ). I think that these would not have been covered anyway.
I have asked them for a copy of the insurance policy PPI, as we have never had one, and they have not produced one. The amount added to the car loan was £1370.77 for the first vehicle, and £1757.03 for the second vehicle, i believe there were thousands of miss sold ppi policies by YCC, so the question is have i any chance at reclaiming these, as they refuse to cancel the premiums, and are very agressive when enquiries are made.

Thanks for the site very informative and helpful

I rang first plus yesterday to ask for information on my secured load which was fully paid in 2003. The said they have no records of me ever having a loan with them:mad: .
I rang my bank and asked for some statements from 2002, I have to pay £5 for these to be sent.
I might ring the solicitors that dealt with my remortgage they should have the info on the first plus loan because I had to pay the loan from the money.
I have had big trouble with first plus right from the start of my load, I would never reccommend these cowboys.
    2008 won £5119.04 :j
    2009 won so far £0:rotfl:
    All together now..........
Always look on the bright side of life

    Hi

Not sure if this question has already been asked before, so sorry if it has...
I have had several unsecured loans with Barclays within the last 6 years, and re-paid them early. Unfortunately, I no longer have the paperwork for any of the loans, and wondering how I go about finding out PPI.. I am sure the PPI was added onto the loan as a lump sum, and even more sure that I did not get this back when I repaid it early.. Do I need to request paperwork from Barclays before I go any further.
    Thanks in advance - KT-K
