    Hi all
I have just had a reply off the FOS about my PPI claim from Cap 1.
They say they cannot uphold the complaint as I had the PPI for the last 7 years without complaining and that my application form (dated 2001) asked for the PPI.
    Is that it then?
I keep seeing people getting theirs back from cap 1 I thought it was going to be the same as them.
Can I do anything else or do I just leave it now?
    Any help please.

Is it a loan you have? who with?
how did you get it, broker?

i may be able to point you in the right direction.
I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.

However, I have since seen the light.

    Hi there
No not a loan its a credit card.
I MAY HAVE NOTHING.....BUT ITS MY NOTHING
  • I recently reported a success as natwest had refunded £1728.86 into my account, which i was advised by a member of their staff it was from the insurance division of natwest and that a letter was in the post! I was clearly over the moon with this outcome and so went out and spent a portion of it! however in the mean time natwest had the money removed the money from my account! This is, as i am sure you can imagine a bitter pill to swallow and i am unsure on where i stand with the situation so any advice would be extremely helpful!!

I would speak to them asap and find out the reason they have taken it, did you have other debts with this bank? as I am sure your aware they can not legally just take money without reason. Good luck with getting back what it would seem is rightfully yours.

I have no other debts with natwest or any other lenders so have no idea why they have taken it! Rang them yesterday and they could not help me as it was 2 minutes past 5 so the relevant people to speak to had gone home! Am making a trip to the branch this morning to try and get some answers and will not leave the bank untill i do so! Am so angry, as once again natwest have treated me totally unfairly!!!

I took out a loan with Halifax complete with PPI in Nov 2005.

At the time I informed the salesperson that I was on a career break from work and not due back to work until Dec 2008.

I would like to know whether I would have been considered to be working (as I was still employed, but not getting paid) or would I have been considered to be a stay at home parent?

    Thanks in advance.

Please can anybody help me with this?

I successfully claimed nearly £8000 back from natwest, and I got letters after 8 weeks saying I could go to the FOS. I sent the following letter and the matter was resolved pretty sharpish. You (and everybody else on this thread) need to be patient. These things won't get done quickly.

Here is a copy of the letter I sent, adapt as you see fit:

Wow, what a fantastic letter GT, i've not copied the whole quote on here. I bet the bank were dead scared when they received this, no wonder they coughed up for you. Nice one. SUFC

Hi, did you have to actually attend court or did they pay up before it got to court, if so at what stage did they pay up? Thanks, SUFC

Has anyone had any joy in getting money back from cahoot? I had a loan with them and took out the ppi for a car but I paid it off early

I'm not sure if I can claim as I took out the loan online so I can't really say that I was mis-sold it as I didn't talk to anyone. The only thing I can think of is being able to claim some money back as I paid it off early

Any advice as to what I should do or be entitled to?

    Thanks
