I know this is not PPI, but do the same rules apply---when my wife purchased a new car over 3 years ago, she was advised to take out a policy which was designed to pay for financial shortfall between the amount she would receive from her motor insurance policy in the event of a total loss and the amount she originally paid for the vehicle. I believe it is called VRP.
The cost of this policy was included in a 3 year 0% finance agreement which was payed off after 2 years. The policy was underwritten by AXA Ins. UK plc through Nissan.
I believe she was mis-sold this policy and did not receive any rebate when the policy and finance agreement was paid off early.
She has all the original documents(FINANCE AGREEMENT AND POLICY AGREEMENT) but there is no mention of the cost of this policy in the total monthly payment.0 -
Good news so far, after one, fairly assertive, phone call Natwest agreed to cancel the PPI cover for the rest of my loan term (4 1/2 years) However, they are saying that at the beginning of the loan you pay higher repayments on the PPI because the risk is greater. So my future repayments will not go down by as much as I was expecting. I will be trying to claim the total amount back as the interest has been added on after the insurance was included. However, if i am unsuccessful, does anyone know if the PPI repayment is weighted towards the beginning of the repayments?
Thank you!0 -
Help needed, please!
We've just tried to cancel our PPI on our Northern Rock loan and they have told us we would have to apply for a whole new loan without the PPI. This is something that was not mentioned when the loan was taken out. Another thing that springs to mind is that when we applied for the loan and signed the documents i didn't tick the PPI box and after a few days of not hearing anything from them my husband called and they said we hadn't ticked the PPI box so they couldn't proceed and they would send new documents and to ensure we ticked the box and re-signed. We didn't question this as we needed the money rather urgently, do we have a case of mis-selling and should i try to reclaim.0 -
It's ok, i've just read Martins PPI reclaiming page and i think i do have a case, so i will be sending a letter tonight.0

All I can really say is expect a long hard battle with GE Money, I have been fighting them since September last year and still not resolved. Though the matter is in the hands of the courts with a trial date to be set sometime in December this year.
Not posting much about GE Money in open forum as Evidence shows that GE Money have in the past and probably still are monitoring my Postings on CAG and no doubt on here too.
If anyone needs info etc please send me a PM or email me at ian@reidnet.co.uk
Good Luck

Hi,
After reading your article about reclaiming PPI I tried with Paragon finance and I have received a reply this morning. They are telling me I do not have a claim due to the fact that I used a Broker, even though all the documentation is with Paragon. They said I should contact the broker direct is this correct? I am a bit confused.
Please help? anyone?

These people will say anything to put you off.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.
However, I have since seen the light.0
