You really don't want to start a dispute.
Just tell him he is wrong and let it lie.
Then complete the forms. Given that you will tell your buyers that this is a probate sale, you would not be expected to know as much about the property as someone who has lived there.
(We are looking to buy a property and the standard questions form has come back with a lot of "not aware" comments with the footnote that the seller has never even set foot in the country (foreign investor) so a lot if info is missing.)I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I am not starting a dispute though, it is the other guy! I have told him he is wrong, he says we are wrong so what can you do?
The threat of him holding up any potential sale is real and I don't have many options. I feel as if he is taking advantage of the fact I am still mourning my dad and trying to bully me into selling to him cheap.0 -

Sorry for your loss, but the advice early on is sound in the grand scheme of things, and sometimes it takes someone who isn't emotionally involved to point that out?
I would agree a price with the neighbour and move on with your life, and enjoy some good things with the money your Dad's flat will bring you0 -

There is that train of thought but this guy is being a total **** so I will let the open market dictate what happens. I know that if i did sell to him there would be phone calls every 10 mintes complaining about things!
My solicitor asked me to check another couple of measurements today, this time for the entire length of the plot and this confirmed that we are totally correct and they will be putting a letter out to that effect tomorrow.0 -

But that's possibly (amend = probably) why he is throwing his toys out of the pram at this moment....
By the sound of it = it's a try-on on his part and he's bargaining on you feeling "weak" in the circumstances.
Why do some people focus on finding an Achilles heel? - but that's what he is trying with you (ie hoping your mind wont be fully functioning in the circumstances).0 -

Exactly. He had plenty opportunity to moan about this when he took over ownership of the flat and 15 years before that his father could have made an issue when he owned the flat.
The fact he refused to meet me face to face to go over the measurements suggests he is just being a bit of an !!!.0 -
can't you see his land plan from the land registry? might cost you a couple of quid.0

Got my measurements from the Feu Disposition the council gave when the flat was bought from them. it has all the meansurements for my plot.
The only potential issue would be if his version with his plot has figures that don't add up but they should be ok.0 -
