Broughton is a popular area of Milton Keynes - it is very close to the M1 and Kingston Centre (A huge Tesco Extra, Library, Restaurants, M&S, Boots, Costco etc) - Personally, I would not want to live there, I live in a more rural area of MK.

Broughton is a long way from the station. Colleague of mine who commutes moved away due to that. Resale values on flats can be pushed down through competition with new builds - my colleague sold last autumn at a loss from purchase almost ten years previously.

Broughton is too built up for me. I live in a more rural area of MK, I like my countryside views. Broughton will be popular with people who need to access the M1.

We viewed there. Didn't like it.

I would seriously consider still buying there if for a buy to let. Just wouldn't live there myself.

We have friends who live there (own their home) and are very happy.

I am currently looking at a flat in one of the new developments.
yes that's the only thing holding me back as the station seems a bit far away.

I viewed three houses there, also didn't like it very much - it felt a little crowded.

Houses I looked at were nice and well built, but really small, and there was a lot of building going on there at the time (Dec last year) so I was concerned about the house maintaining its value. There were a lot of houses on the market when I was looking and new ones still springing up all around, so it wasn't a risk I was prepared to take in case I had to sell again.

I also found it a pain to get to work (I work in south MK), so it wasn't for me I'm afraid.

Whether you personally like it seems quite irrelevant to me. If you're looking for a buy to let what matters is whether it would be easy to let out and what the expected rent would be vs how much the property cost.
