Payment of IB and/or IS when sick is normally every 2 weeks in arrears. If you cannot manage, you can ask to be paid weekly.
On sickness claims, the last 2 numbers of your NINO decides your payday- Mon 00 to 24, Tue 25 to 49, Wed 50 to 74 and Thu 75 to 99.
Then the 2 weekly cycle is -for example- all EVEN ending numbers are paid this week, all ODD ending numbers are paid next week.
So if this is an EVEN week- then today TUES 21/8- NINOs ending 26/28/30>48 have been paid. WED 22/8 -NINO's ending 50/52/54 > 74 will be paid.

Have just read your reply and can't help thinking that it's all done to confuse us. I've just (today) been made redundant and I am absolutely in awe of the "dreaded system ". Have you any suggestions to help?
    Thanks:confused:

Wow!!! I never knew that, very interesting indeed, thanks! :T

In that case if what you state is correct then going by my own NINO/payment schedule I can confirm that NINO's ending with even numbers are paid next week and NINO's ending with odd numbers would have received payment this week.

I hope that helps the OP to work it out :)

    Chameleon-
You missed two words in my earlier post- 'for example'.
I don't know if this week is an even or an odd week. I do know that the IB/IS payments system is odd/even/odd/even etc, and that the paydays Mon to Thur are based on the last 2 digits of the NINO.
    Buggins-
Make your benefit claim (JSA or IB/IS) tomorrow. Contact you local Jobcentre for the phone number to ring.
    Follow the relevant links-

It's not done to confuse anyone- it's just that everyone can't be paid every benefit on the same day- it has to be spread out - otherwise the DWP's computers will break it's rubber band.

Yes, I noticed you'd given it as an example so I was just clarifying to the OP which week we were actually on so that she could work out exactly when her payment was due :)

Maybe you misread my post ;)
