I stayed at the Canary Wharf Hilton a few months ago - it was lovely, and Canry Wharf is so clean compared to central London, worth having a look on the Hilton web site - they do some really good deals if you stay two nights, including breakfast both days and dinner on one night

I stayed at the Marriott in Canary Wharf last weekend. I agree, it's a really nice place to be. Modern, lots of space, quieter than the rest of London in terms of traffic. Lovely views of the rest of London, easy to get in to town, but you're still spoilt for choice in restaurants by the water if you want a quieter time of it. We were on the 8th floor with great views, waterside.

    I'm sold on it :)

and the shopping is fab in that huge mall - also forgot to mention Hilton do an exec thing, where you get canapes and cocktails on the penthouse floor, it costs extra, I asked for a free upgrade in true mse style - didn;t get it, but was worth asking haha - they also do a breakfast thing up there so that might be a nice package for your parents

We stayed in the Sol Melia White House hotel which is just off of Regents Park. It was fantastic. If you get stay in one of the suites, you get to eat and drink in a separate lounge

In the bedroom there was even a pillow 'menu' for all the different types of pillows on offer there.

The Mandarin Oriental near Hyde Park is beautiful but it is pricey. Expect to pay around £8 for a cappucino from room service, granted it comes with handmade chocs but you get the idea :)

We've just booked to stay in the Renaissance Chancery Court and the reviews were really good. Paying with Tesco Clubcard Deals so not costing me anything!!

The White House is so well located and right opposite Gt.Portland Street underground station ,within walking distance of Regents Park. Buses to Madam Tussauds,Baker Street,Oxford Street,Marble Arch,Kensington and Knightsbridge one way and British Museum and Theatreland the other. The Russell Hotel is right by Russell Square underground, minutes away from Tottenham Court Road one way and Holborn,Covent Garden,Theatreland,Trafalgar Square,The Mall,Whitehall the other.

We are staying at the Marriott opposite the houses of parliament in October- it looks lovely, have always had good experience with Marriotts, but a little over budget at £200 a night. Might be cheaper for your dates though.?Worth a look, it's the one right next to the London Eye.
