getting a refund on a poorly taught FX course

justme111 - I can't call it a scam. I'm just narrating what I experienced. I don't know anyone who's invested their money with that company and not got whatever they were promised. I just know what happened at that course on that particular day. No, I would not call this gullibility. Signing up for a course is not a sign of gullibility. That's the 'blame the victim' culture that lets scamsters off. Looks like investment education is totally unregulated, and people like me are left defenceless.0

Was something similar a few years ago- teach the course in a way that makes it hard to follow- in order that you stay for longer, and pay more in an attempt to follow. Sure it was covered in the Telegraph.Total - £340.00
wins : £7.50 Virgin Vouchers, Nikon Coolpixs S550 x 2, I-Tunes Vouchers, £5 Esprit Voucher, Big Snap 2 (x2), Alaska Seafood book0 -
What on earth can you learn on a course about forex trading
You don't need to go on a course to realise it's a zero sum game (each trade has a 'winner' and a 'loser') with no way of determining which you are at the time of trade.
Only people making money is on commission.
Scam yes, gulliable yes. Honestly what did you hope to learn? Buy low sell high?
You clearly don't trade I take it. Please move on.0 -

I had no idea about the various upsells until after I had signed up and was attending the course.
Attacking others on here for trying to give you a bit of common sense will not change the fact that you have been had.0 -
I doubt you will be able to get your money, best you might hope for is they let you do the same course again for free. I suspect it will give them another opportunity to upsell to you!
In all honesty this forum is more about saving and investing rather than trading. I am not sure you are getting to get a lot of sympathy, and the message is more likely to be that most people are 1)better off not trading and 2)better off not paying someone to teach them a system with which to trade.0 -
What are the actual terms and conditions that you and they agreed to, especially in respect to refunds?
Can't find anything on refunds or T&Cs. But one email mentions the bonuses I was supposed to get:
"BONUS 1
Your First bonus for registering is the entire Foreign Exchange 6 set Home Study DVD." <Never got that. When I asked about it I was told that the videos were available on the forum - the one that I would have to pay to join.>
BONUS 2
A 1 hour 1-1 consultation with the Head Trader. Substantial insight into what can be expected in your financial future... anything that will get you the results you need! <Never got this. I did get a 5-10 min session with the guy whose only objective was to sell the forum membership.>
The third bonus was free access to the weekly webinars and forum for three months after the course. <They debited my account about a week after the course, after which I complained that they can't take membership fees off me during the complimentary period. It was only after I sent them their own email listing the bonuses that they refunded the membership fee.>
Can't find a refunds policy in any of their emails. Still looking.0 -
A bit of Googling in advance would have provided information about the techniques used to hook people, and to keep them paying more. I would not trust reviews by strangers.
"A successful trader will never, and I repeat profusely, never teach their method of operation to anyone. He would never reveal his secret, technical indicator, or whatever makes him succeed regularly in the markets year after year (a good year or months may, anyone can have). If a truly professional trader reveals his secret to other operator, it will be against its own interest: so no trader would do this."

Some training organisations keep going for decades because there are always new generations of people to be hooked.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?
