You can probably buy one secondhand on eBay.

-Need to finish washing/ironing/cleaning but getting there

I always turn the iron off for the last item and use the residual heat. Also turn off the hob and oven for the last couple of minutes.

Book passport photo session at Timpsons - DONE - Fri

Last time I used a free passport photo website. You upload a photo, it makes it passport-friendly, you download it and print it or take it to a High Street photo shop and print it there.

Google 'online passport photo' if you're interested.

Or PhotoBox have one for about £2.50. (Link)

    Hi Everyone,

I haven't posted on here for a long while as I've had a lot of change going on in my life (relationship breakup). After all the turmoil it has been a positive step and I feel so much happier but it has had an impact on my finances as it's now just me left to pay all the bills. I had wanted to be debt free by November but it looks like it'll be my original debt-free date of May 2016. I'm down to my last £2000 to pay off so will have to see if I can make this sooner! On a positive note I have started seeing someone else who is lovely, can cook and conveniently lives next door... :j

    Today:

    - NSD
    - All meals from stores
    - Surveys checked - I'm saving up for a voucher so I can buy some new make-up!
    - Online banking to check
    - Waiting to hear back from Music Magpie as I sent in loads of unwanted CDs and DVDs (will put money towards debt repayment)
    - I traded-in loads of books on Amazon and made £150! I bought myself a Kindle as I'm still trying to reduce the amount of books I have cluttering up my flat and also bought a birthday present for a friend. I need to figure out how to use the Kindle!
    - Free Postcode Lottery still to check
    - Decide what furniture I'm putting on Ebay to sell (I'm having a major clear-out!)

    Have a great Tuesday everyone

Forgot to set the alarm last night, which resulted with me waking up at 8.15! I have to leave the house at 8.30. I must of looked awful! Luckily I get a hour between school run and childminders so I look a bit more presentable now! Girlies are at their dads this evening so chance to get back on top of things, though the house isn't too bad luckily

Jo Jo - god oversleeping is the worst thing ever. I can't remember the last time we did but it is hideous. Hope you can get your mojo back!

Princess -welcome back. Sounds like a bump in the road rather than a full detour on your DF journey. Also sounds like a lot of good has come from it overall. Good luck now.

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I posted on here. Lots of things happening in my life, nothing bad, just different, but it has meant that we now have more money coming into the home and I've discovered that I need MSE in my life again to make sure I stick to getting rid of my debt and not overspending even though there is money available! (To see over £200 still in my bank a/c at this stage of the month, rather than £20 is something I need to get used to - and just because it's there doesn't mean it needs to be spent!)

So, coming back on MSE today has helped me to realise that I need to stick to spending less and helping to get me back on track!

So, today, I have made my own lunch; I've posted 6 items I've sold on eBay; will find other items to sell on eBay; and I will walk home from work (saving £1.50 bus).

A few little steps, which I hope will help me remember that I haven't got money to burn!!

Have a good rest of the day everyone! QBx

Welcome back Queen Bess. I agree that the forum is excellent for focusing the mind on debt slaying/all things financial.

Well pleased to have completed everything on my list today. Other than sitting down!
Have now hit 7 NSD s this month. Aiming for 20.
Have a plan to pay down £500+ of my CC too by the end of the month. Really hope it works. But as they say a wish without a plan and all that.

Need to decide what to do about the EF too. It will be full by end of next month. Do we at that point throw everything at the CCs or keep stashing. I am thinking of a certain small person arriving in 4.5 months time. If we keep going that's another £800 roughly we'd have in there but is it better to pay down debt instead?

Anyway. Off to enjoy the newly reinstated hot water.

    Bob
