Nothing wrong with renting privately. I am sick of hearing of bad landlords  do you ever hear of bad tenants?
I have spent the last 5 days helping my parents empty a flat after their tenant did a bunk. They only found out a month after the tenant did a runner after receiving a letter from the council demanding council tax on the property.
The tenant broke every door in the house, vandalised it completely  the place is a wreck  It was grim, the grime and dirt was disgusting, the blinds were covered in thick grease and it will cost £1000s to fix. I could go on but I will save you the details.
Honestly you wouldn't believe our experience of tenants - you would think we'd made it up. :(
Just like 'Benefit tenants' on TV but 100x worse because we are actually involved, albeit in a round about way.
These people aren't paying for the house because it's all paid through benefits, they don't take care of it, so why should we be made out to be the 'bad or rogue landlord'

Not disagreeing with you at all. Just saying that people who are giving up a secure tenancy provided by social housing usually want something more secure than a 12 month AST.

Whatever it says in the contract, provided it doesn't amount to harassment and generally 24 hours notice should be given.

We have tenants, and some have been a nightmare causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.

But, I also see what rogue landlords so. I once visited a house with huge holes in the floor... it was like that when they moved in, the landlord had carpeted over the holes! One call to environmental health and the house was condemned.

I agree that people should think carefully before moving from security of LA/HA tenancy to private tenancy.

We rarely inspect a property, as I do think that people have a right to live without being harassed (I would not want my bank to come and inspect my house!). We do ring every 2 months to check if there are minor repairs...if they keep saying no (every property needs repairs).... then I would be worried and arrange to visit.

    Good evening.

In my A tonight they had various SEL RTC which may be worth checking:

Lucozade Orange 6x380ml bottles £1.98 (£4 A, 2 for £5 T, M or S - hoping for an 11+ on this though will be quite big if it works  :)).

Irn Bru 6 500ml bottles (from memory - short dated though as May 2015) £1
Toblerone £2 (£4 v £3 M - was tempted to 11+ but November dates so not good for Christmas)
Cby Kids Pizza 10p (not surprisingly none left :(
