I think it was Savvy who said she never knows when is the right time to comment in the midst of these moments. I again am in one of the moments, where my predicament seems laughable considering others lives right now. However, that said... I want to try and lighten the mood so here goes.
Considering OH and I have both decided to quit work on the same day with the aim of growing our business now has to be the worst time to find those bargain flights to Florida for the beginning of June.
Since the flights first came around in April at £199 I think it was, I've been too-ing and frowning with the idea of going. Our schedule from July onwards is chaotic with the business and means were going to be unlikely to go away again until February time.
Before you go oh poor you in a sarcastic tone. I work ridiculously hard, 12 hour days, 7 days a week. If you own a business you'll understand it's very hard to switch off, you've always got to be thinking, on the ball etc. So going away for us is a time to switch off.
So I've managed to get the flights for £250 (we're taking hand luggage), the tickets to the parks for £300 and looks like a half decent hotel with a shuttle to the parts for £300.
Our ESTA is still in date from NYC in January, and we can eat at the diners etc relatively cheaply. So for 2 weeks, were looking at around £1,100 each all in.
Do I bite the bullet?
My other half is going crazy with me, I'm such an indecisive person and the smallest decision can be a real tough one, so this rather big decision that seems very irresponsible given we've just quit work is a very hard one to go ahead and do.
do it!!i`ve done all the sensible saving stuff but now decided lifes short and precious so enjoy it while we can.:D0 -

As someone who has had my own businesses and often worked 16hrs a day 7 days a week holidays are necessary! You've been working and can afford it so give yourselves a break before the business takes over.
Sod what other people think just DO IT. We used to have dry spells in between manic periods when hubby & I were running our own business. At the time we were extremely fortunate as it was the very early days of the internet - about 16-17yrs ago when we first started & there were fabulous holidays, often HB going from just 99p for the 2 of us on auction sites. We used to keep a bag packed, not be too particular about what country we went to (preferably Greece or Turkey but anywhere really) and bid on those with no or few bids. We had some fabulous times away & never got a bad holiday - even at 99p! OMG people were so jealous BUT we knew how hard we were working. Wish those days were still around!
I know it's not 99p BUT had these not been there we would have still gone. Life is not just work, work, work & with a break you'll be fresher when the crazy long weeks of running your own business start.
If you don't go you'll regret it - February is a long time away without a break. You're probably also being optimistic about just working 12 hrs a day. I hope you're not being optimistic but fear you might be. I never could switch off properly except on holiday.
DO IT!
This means a lot coming from someone who understands the pain we go through. The £0.99 deal sounds crazy! I got a flight for £1 to Copenhagen last month, but circumstances meant I couldn't get it however it led to me starting another business passing the rains of our main business to OH while I focus getting this one up and running before outsourcing the upkeep.
My parent's don't get it and have made me feel guilty for thinking about the idea. They suggested 3 nights in a European destination instead, LIKE THAT COMPARES!
My backwards and forwards over the whole thing has now put doubt in OH mind, and the last thing I want to do is go and regret going or be worried the entire time I'm there.
I regret going to Florida said nobody ever right! LOL.0 -

I see it as an investment holiday. We want to go, and it's highly unlike we'll get it this cheap again. Last year we made a list of the places we wanted to go before having kids. So we just kind of tick off the list when we can.
Funnily enough Orlando wasn't on it, but I've been before and OH hasn't and once I got the idea in my head I struggled to get it out. Being so sensible with money on top of the indecisiveness makes spending money like this is very hard.
I say yes too. Definitely go for it. You have done your best to get the best price you can. If you don't go, you will probably regret it and life is too short for regrets.Go and have a fabulous holiday, switch off and enjoy being together without the stress and pressures of work, then you can come back refreshed and ready to get back to making your business work.
I haven't been here long, but have tried to contribute in a small way to the Elite community. It is heartwarming to see so many lovely posts about someone that no-one actually new in the real world. I lit a candle for Princess Melody. May she rest in peace :A

similar predicament here.
My ipad I can update to IOS8 but haven't as I've heard no end of horror stories. My iphone 4 I cant update to IOS 8 so as there is nothing actually wrong with it I am going to stick with it until all of my apps need IOS8 to work.
OH has a blackberry and says as its android he does not have to this problem but then he says he prefers the simplicity of Apple ...
I think we are caught between a rock and a hard place ...
and on days like this it all seems so irrelevant
My iPad s up to date and I haven t had any horror stories hth
Good Afternoon0 -
