when a cyclist went into my side mirror I had to pay to replace it - over £80  - whatever your circumstances its a lot of money and at the time we were skint.
It will be interesting to see what your insurance company says
The guy who hit the car was nice enough. A respectable chap I think he was a DR. He was traveling to work at the local hospital
It should be mandatory for cyclists to have insurance if they are using the highway to cover both themselves and others
my car is worth around ten grand and we saved for a long time to purchase it. So at the moment I am worried about the cost of repairs. I have comprehensive insurance. but if I claim on my insurance it will go from £500 a year to well over £10000 -
Morning all
Just woke up to an almighty bang. A cyclist had driven in to the back of my car. the cyclist was not seriously injured thank god
I wish my car was the same. The damage caused is shocking you would never think someone could do so much damage on a push bike. The crash was captured on CCTV he hit the car so hard he moved it
Its a 4x4 the back door is damaged badly. The rear light is smashed. The bumper is damaged the rear panel is damaged and the rear supporting pillar is caved in. its possibly a right off absolutely gutted. Hope it does not come out of my pocket:(
Hopefully the cyclist has given you their details too. You do wonder sometimes whether cyclists should be insured (but then pedestrians do some silly things too ... where would we stop? Insurance companies may be the only winner!).
Good luck getting it sorted.

Morning all,
Awww such sad news about PRINCESSMELODY. TWEETS told her to contact me when she was having problems with her housing. I've still got all her pm's. She seemed like such a nice young lady who was going through a really bad patch. I thought she had sorted it out as she went all quiet a few months ago. I told her about all the help and assistance that was available to her as she had young children. Poor lady.
I'm lost for words. I wish there was more that I could have done for her. If she was a local girl, I would happily have helped her further and taken her to the local authority.0 -
Good Morning
The out pouring of grief is so intense, it's a sentiment I echo. It's strange and overwhelming to feel this way over someone I'd never met.
Today my thoughts are with her family and her DD. How does anyone summon the strength and courage to tell a child that no matter how hard they wish, how ever much pocket money they give up, how well behaved they are this will not bring their loved ones back in this life. I can't imagine how hard that must be for Princess' family and friends to deal with.
We all plough through life with good days and bad. Sometimes the bad is so terrible for some that they wrestle with demons from one day to the next with no periods of sunshine in between. Which is just so sad.
If there is anyone out there who can not see the light at the end of the tunnel, please don't face it alone. Speak out please0 -
I think you have taken what I said the wrong way.I have told you about my recent experience and seen what an effect this has had on the family.I am not judging anyone.I was only thinking about the little girl left without her mum.
Sorry, i probably was overly harsh and posted in haste. The written word can be read so differently from person to person.0 -

I think maybe now is the time to move onto a new subject. As the mother of a depressed DD ( who attempted sucide 2 years ago ) and a husband who did the same 7 years ago only someone who has been there could start to understand. My daughter went through 9 months of intense therapy and is now on a much better road. But she still has her bad days. OH is seeing his black dog at the moment and as he is a recovering alcoholic aswell its a nervous time for us as a family.
No one really understand depression and what enters the minds of people commiting suicide but my daughter just told me afterwards that she wanted to just be gone.
No one really knew this lady so maybe time to stop accessing her Facebook and leave it be
Thats my opinion anyway0 -
Good morning everyone. Feeling very emotional today after reading all the lovely tributes to Princessmelody. I have only joined mse fairly recently after having lurked for a long time but I remember her posts about 'my mister' and her use of tanku. I must admit I have shed tears and had very little sleep as this as shocked and upset me so much. Thoughts go out to her family and little girl :A
My own DS suffers terribly with mental health problems and although he has never threatened to take his own life I sometimes can't help but think the worst. Especially when I phone him and there is no reply I always worry as he lives on his own.
I think most of the Elite will make a point of spending time with their families today and giving them an extra special hug :A
Right on that note I am off to spend the day with my DS but will be here at 8.00pm to raise a glass to Melody. May she RIP xxx0 -
If anyone needs some light distraction this morning I came across an FB posting, (3 ladies needing a forth lady to make up a 4 bed cabin on a Cunard ship) and it said they were all red hatters - so of course I had to look this up
http://britishredhatters2.weebly.com/
so now if you are out and about and see any giggly out of control ladies all wearing purple (or pink) and red hats you will know what it is about“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0
