    Butteries great, peeps down south use vegetable oil instead of lard, spoils it totally.

    Lard :eek: I grew up in my early years being fed on everything cooked in lard _pale_ must confess it doesn't appeal to me at all now :o

    oh them frying pans sat on the stove with lard still in waiting to be melted down again *shudder* :rotfl:

    Yeah, I remember my mum never draining fat from mince, it congealed over.

    But the occasional indulgence is ok. I am REALLY craving a buttery, nearest real one 50 miles away :(
