Parking fine with incorrect details

I receiced a parking fine last week from Cascade Financial LTd. When I tried to pay this fine over the phone the amount was incorrect and was stated as £ 100 instead of 60. I emailed their support team and they replied stating it had been changed back to the correct amount. Today when I logged in the amount was Indeed correct but the date of issue on the website is out by about 6 days compared to the charge notice. This seems like a pretty amateur company to me and im now unsure if I should pay this or if I have grounds to appeal it.

    Woah! Don't pay this.

Give us the details first. What happened, when, and where?

Are you sure Cascade Financial were the parking company involved and not just a debt collector? I think this is just a trading name for National Parking Control, and they are BPA members.

  • I was parked outside work in a side street in Belfast. This is a mainly residentual area. It says failure to display a ticket and unauthorized parking. I was unaware tickets were needed in this area. The ticket said cascade financial ltd.. national parking notice

If you had not contacted them you could have ignored it, they can only go after the driver in NI, no keeper liability. Post what you have admitted to and done so far, do not say who was driving, you may need to edit a post.

You are dealing with one of the stupidest, dodgiest outfits in the business. Don't even think of paying.

Note in particular the recommendations about complaining to the BPA and DVLA about the rubbish Mohammed Habib Buksh sends out pretending to be a Notice to Keeper, and the lie on his website where it says "Fully Approved and Supported by the DVLA". You might also complain to the ASA about that last point, Buksh is already known to them.
