What's that going to achieve. The dealership will simply say the OP agreed to purchase this car for £7100 plus trade-in. Makes no odds if the car was advertised at £9495, £9845, or even £19895 for that matter. That is definitely not the only resolution, do as others have said and take a screen shot of the advert and go back.0 -

What does make a difference is the OP was offered £3000 for their car so the balance to pay should be the screen price less £3000 plus the tax.0 -

Unless OP has some sort of proof they were offered £3000 they may struggle with that argument. The sales man may say he offered £2000 and OP is mistaken. Regardless the sale wasn't agreed on at the point the £3000 was offered and figures were thrown around while still bartering the price and the final price agreed was for £7100 including the car tax.
It doesn't matter what the original price the paperwork says the car was or what was offered as trade in, as long as the amount paid/agreed to pay is £7100 then everything is fine.0 -
We see quite a lot of posts of people who come unstruck trusting car dealers with paper work and documents such as MOT.
You must be very on guard and check and double check.
Things like reciepts, MOT, is the actual certificate showing what they said in the add, one on here was driving round with no MOT in the belief of what the add said, which was full MOT.
They know people are walking around in daft head mode and take good advantage of this.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
If you read the OP's first post it states that the price of the car is more than advertised. What's that going to achieve. The dealership will simply say the OP agreed to purchase this car for £7100 plus trade-in. Makes no odds if the car was advertised at £9495, £9845, or even £19895 for that matter.[/QUOTE

No, the balance to pay is the price negotiated and agreed between the OP and salesman on the day. The screen price is irrelevant in this instance. What does make a difference is the OP was offered £3000 for their car so the balance to pay should be the screen price less £3000 plus the tax.0 -
But they haven't "incorrectly charged" anything. The deal will be the one agreed on the day. Clearly if that changes then the OP does have something to complain about. You're right it doesn't change a thing, the garage incorrectly charged more for the car.
Hopefully the OP will talk to the garage today and get them to amend their overcharging.0
