I have a monthly contract with Orange/EE.
I don't call their CS often but I did today at 18.12.
I was only calling to request a nano-sim for my new iphone but received a shock instead.
Orange/EE CS is now charging 50p per mins for calls to speak to an operator during off peak hours.
Are they for real????
How long has this been implemented?
I did not get the memo.
I have been an Orange customer since 2006.
Firstly they increase the price of broadband for contract customers from free to more than £25 pm and then there were the increases for rental charges.
This is it. Walking away when present contract ends.

Do what ?The OP is calling after normal hours. The chances are the local shop will be closed. In any case it will no doubt cost him more to get there.

I haven't got EE mobile, but for my EE broadband and landline account, it says:

    * Calls to 0800 079 8586 from a landline are free of charge. Charges from mobiles will vary.
** Calls to 150 from EE, T-Mobile or Orange mobile phones are charged as per your price plan. Please see ee.co.uk for more information.

I know the 0800 number is free, but it does take forever to get through.
