    Not always. Mine just takes it when I pop in there. But I guess some don't.

    As I said in my previous post, MANY will not see anybody without an appointment. It's better to call to ask for one than to turn up and have them refuse to see you. The official line is that everybody needs an appointment. Those who will see people without an appointment are being more customer focussed than the rules dictate. I'm not saying those offices are wrong by the way.
  • I've never had a text to conform receipt of a fit note, although I did to confirm receipt of application.

    I think, as with many things, it varies from area to area.

    mind if i jump in too.

    i got a letter saying ill be getting £73.10 a week but haven't had a text. when will i expect to get payment

    There is a 7 day waiting period before entitlement kicks in. Actual pay day depends on the final 2 digits of your National Insurance number 00-19 Monday, 20-39 Tuesday and so on. It is also paid 2 weekly so worst case scenario is 3 weeks before your first payment. Doesn't the letter tell you when you will receive your first payment? If not, give them a call to ask.

    just spoke with the jobcenter and first payment will be 8 days after i sent the sick note/medical certificate. so should be next thursday
