Sky haggling fail

i fear I have been trying to push for too much and have now failed in my attempts to beat Sky's prices down.
Currently on variety bundle with HD, sky talk and free broadband for £55 per month. I've been a customer for 13 years and never asked for a discount before, except getting free broadband last year.
I called yesterday and was offered a deal for £41.65 per month for 10 months for everything, but this was reducing my package down to original bundle, so really only saving £7 per month off the TV price.
I said I needed to discuss with husband and then thought I'd try again this morning through live chat. I explained the the live chat person that I'd been through options but it was too expensive and I wanted to cancel. He went through things with me and offered £10 off per month and a new HD box as I'd said ours was becoming a bit temperamental.
In kind of hoping for the 50% offers to come through after I have cancelled, I asked him to go ahead and cancel and then he informed me that I'd have to start paying for my broadband at £10 a month if I cancelled TV. This was something I wasn't aware of at all and was never told this when I renewed broadband last year. I decided to leave the account active for now whilst I think some more but I wish I'd have taken his offer.
I don't know what to do now. Do I leave it and cancel everything together when broadband up for renewal in July or do I ring back and ask for this deal again?
Feel silly and that I was being too greedy but was spurred on by the guidance to not take the first offer and reading what great offers other people have had!
Any advice?

Cancel TV anyway -you won't be charged the £10 for bb until your service is switched off - and then don't accept any TV deal without "restoration " of "free" broadband ??:T0

I left sky about 6 months ago, and almost every month i get flyers and emails offering 50 percent off, often with cashback0

Well go back to them and ask to take the offer?Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0
