Evening all,
Miserable day here, rain and more rain, you would think that having lived in this country for 70 years I would be used to the rain, but I still hate it!
Dinner was chicken, cauliflower, white sauce, roast tomatoes and baked potatoes, with apple pie for pudding, DD4 and DGS2 were here and enjoyed it immensely.
Dumpling and judi.....I never allow OH to measure or buy anything if I dont agree with it...he usually thinks that he has made the decision and we both end up happy!
Tru......having looked after DS3s 2 terrier crossed dogs for 3 weeks I know exactly how the barking can be irritating, Mossy rarely barks so it was an eye opener.
Elona.....you are doing so well, go easy on yourself and remember that we are all here for you.
Have a good evening

Good evening everyone.
Dumpling, sorry to hear you've been ill, I hope you feel better soon.
Elona thinking of you, its so nice to read your posts.
Hugs to everyone.
I'm feeling very tired tonight, its been quite a week at work, there is a lot more responsibility now plus extra work which is also very time consuming.
We had just started serving the lunch, when the fire alarm went off, so we had to put the food back in the hotplates and then traipse outside. Anyway we still got everyone served and cleared away on time:D
Had an easy dinner tonight veg pasta with quorn turkey steaks. I think I will just relax and browse the forum this evening.
Have a good evening everyone.SPC 11 #4450 -

TRU we had Border Terriers for years, we actually had two together and the only effective stopping mechanism we ever found was a spray bottle of very cold water, I used that on Docky too when he was a pup and took to creeping up behind me and letting out a huge bark. I sprayed it at thier face every single time they barked, it doesn't take too many full on between the eyes sprays (it is only water, won't hurt them one bit) and a severe NO to make them aware that they are doing something unacceptable. I haven't used it on Docky for 10 1/2 years now but still the sight of the bottle is enough to send him straight behind the sofa and lay down. It might help, and it certainly won't hurt Scampi. The bottle I used is one of the misting bottles you can get to spray ironing, usually a few pence from a chemist/hardware shop. I think it's the noise it makes as much as getting wet, might be worth a try? Lyn xxx.
I have to 2nd this, little dog was a border terrier and a little madam for barking at things (especially other dogs) this is typical terrier behaviour, we trained it out of her eventually with the 'water treatment' didn't even have to squirt it after a while, just show it to her. The only thing I would say it don't squirt him if he is barking when someone comes to the door, you don't want to discourage it then, just in case someone tried to break in one night and he doesn't bark !0 -
Evening all - not a good one either, windy, raining and cold.
After a good day yesterday, 2 days post-op, and having the 3 DGDs for tea and sleepover, I hit a setback and started feeling really uncomfortable "down below" and wished I had told DD I still wasn't fit to look after them. I still felt grim this morning and once I had fed and watered them, and got them out of the door for school, I collapsed on the sofa for a while. In fact I have spent most of the day there, dozing and being force-fed the neverending election updates etc that have gone on all day.
Maybe I tried to do too much too soon so I am promising myself an easy weekend and to hell with jobs!
ELONA you are one strong lady and coping remarkably well. I am thinking of you. DUMPLING nice to see you posting again. ((((((((( HUGS ))))))) to the other poorlies or those in need of a bit of TLC and wishing you all a good weekend xxx (I am still stuck with the new version of MSE by the way and still hating it!!)"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Managed to peel myself away from the election eventually. There were things I needed to do for the wedding but it was hard getting started.
Firstly I had decided I was going to give my makeup a trial run. I'm so glad I did because the eye shadow I had bought to complement the lipstick didn't look right and neither did the blusher so whilst I was getting 'Youngests' cuff links and the cards and stuff for the wedding I crawled round the shops looking for the right shade of eyeshadow and blusher. After a few sessions at the makeup counters of Debenhams I got what I wanted. To be honest it would have been easier and cheaper just to change the lipstick but I knew what I wanted.... and was determined to get it. A final check that my dress and bolero still looked ok otherwise it would have meant a trip to Marks and Spencer for 'pull me in' type corset but thankfully all was good.
My nails I had so carefully grown so I could wear nail varnish finally gave up on me this evening when one of them broke off. Short nails it is then.
Went grocery shopping this evening and finally flaked out around 7 to wake an hour later and started tea.... a bit late but never mind.
House looks neglected. Theres hubbys and 'Youngests' work stuff everywhere and I am refusing to ask them to shift stuff again. I guess the stuff will still be here in the morning when my eldest daughter comes with her partner and SJ. I guess they will still be here mid afternoon when hubbys friend arrives from Reading.
Tomorrow is going to be a very busy day. Hardest bit I think will be persuading hubby to get his hair cut. He had it cut about a month ago and says it doesn't need cutting yet.....he obviously hasn't looked in the mirror lately.
TA I hope tomorrow brings you some relief from the unpleasantness your feeling down below. Would a salt bath be of any use to you?

Thanks JUDI never thought of a salt bath. Maybe it would help. Or even just a long soak in the bath. Something I never do as I only ever seem to find time to throw myself under the shower! xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

I had salt baths after I had given birth for a fortnight. Not really needed them as I didn't have stitches but had them anyway. Persuaded my daughter to have them when she had our Grandson and they really helped.
Hope your better tomorrow.:)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
