Brilliant, thank you Mrs LW :T I have a couple of spare spray bottles, I'll fill one right now so I'm armed and ready
He usually reponds to 'ah ah' in a deep voice - can't quite describe it properly with the written word! - even if I'm in the other room when he needs telling. He occasionally peeps at me out of the corner of his eye and I know he's heard but has chosen to ignore. Another 'ah ah' and he listens. Last night, even though I was right in front of him, there was no peeping and it was like he couldn't even see me. When mr tru got home, I asked if we could change his name to Git and give him a couple of sleeping pillsBulletproof0 -
Went downstairs for a cup of tea, finished loading dishwasher and set it off and soaking an oven tray that had minted lamb on it.
Had a phone call from an independent GP to sign docs for cremation so dealt with that and about to have a nice shower and shampoo and look out decent outfit.
Youngest DD kindly informed me that the top and skirt I wore yesterday made me look "Amish" am assuming she meant frumpy rather than casualAs I got the top and skirt in a sale for a quid each then will have no regrets binning or recycling them. At least the two dresses I got for the funeral got their approval- one is just right and the other is too dressed up so will keep for DD's graduation in the summer.
DD and son in law arrive tonight so might make a quiche or falafels and salad.
Still have noodle dish which might convert into a salad and have with yesterday's potato salad for lunch.
Have a couple of phone calls to make later but will tackle that when de scruffed!!!!!
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"

Morning all,
Not surprised to see Dave keeps his place in parliament. Not really the result I wanted either... Same old... same old, the difference being he'll be without his sidekick Clegg.... Saying that, I hadn't got any faith in any of them. Ive been glued to Sky News all morning for updates and I am so concerned about the state of the NHS.
Didn't sleep well last night. I woke up several times and couldn't get back to sleep. Stuff going round in my head that wouldn't go away.
Must get motivated,
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
Sorry I haven't been around for a little while, I've been quite poorly but managed to stay out of hospital so that is great. I'm dosed up with lots of meds with strict instructions to avoid stress...HA! I watched the election unfold last night and when I woke up this morning to the results I honestly felt sick with worry. Oh well, I can't do anything about it and I did vote this time and encouraged my friends too as well.
We have been having a major saga with the new fridge freezer I ordered. It arrived last friday and immediately it became apparent it was too tall for the space. Did this numpty measure beforehand? Obviously not! My hubby bless him tried every which way to get it to fit but had to admit defeat so I phoned the company and asked them to collect it. Meanwhile, our old fridge had been collected and taken away so we had no fridge. Cue a week of solid milk, sweaty cheese and rotten salad. It's been very difficult and I've put up with a lot of moaning from the kids about it. Anyway I ordered another one and it arrived this morning. I have a shop being delivered this evening and it will be lovely to have cold food again.
I have been having a lot of correspondance from DD15's school as it appears she has not been keeping up with her work. I am surprised to be honest as she is very bright and is expected to do really well in her GCSE's next year. When questioned she just shrugs her shoulders and doesn't really know why. I know she has been worried about me for a while and I feel very guilty and she is also a bit of a dolly daydreamer. I know she doesn't like school at all, she isn't being bullied but she finds it hard to make friends and actively avoids social situations.
Hubby is working a half day today so he will be home at lunchtime. I think we will need to go and get something for tea as the shopping isn't being delivered till later. We are lucky to have a little Tesco nearby so he can pop in there and grab something.
Well, I hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -

Shouldn't laugh really but I did the same with our living room sofas. We needed new ones, knew the colour I wanted, knew the fabric and walked round and round in circles to find a 3 seater and 2 seater that we were happy with, quality and price. Everywhere I went I took a trusty tape measure as I knew the room wouldn't take anything any bigger..... So fed up with the tape measure hubby was that when we found a set we liked hubby said "if you get that tape measure out one more time I'm going to walk out"... So he bought the set we both liked only to find that when we actually got it in the living room it was obvious we couldn't fit any furniture in..... Oh well. It suited my minimalistic tendencies but I still feel they are too big.
Oh and the fridge freezer.... that's too big as well.:(This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi Everyone,
Bit late today, because I have been watching the Election results. I am pleased with the result. There are loads of people on Facebook moaning that disabled people like me will be worse off, but who knows? There is a lot of scaremongering amongst people:rotfl:
Anyway, hope you are all okay. I am having DGCH this evening, as DD and SIL are both working. Toad in the hole for dinner. DD's favourite.
My Dad is still not right. We thought we were losing him last weekend, but he's still here! It's a bit of a strain actually, but I'll get there.:A
Have a good dayI Believe in saving money!!!:T

Peeps head around door.
Had a fraught week so far and as looking after dd's bf's dad's dog until after the funeral, which is on 26th and is a burial,........phew that was a mouthful.
It was DS's 21st birthday on Wednesday so we had a small family get together in the evening with cake, the real party for his mates is tomorrow, so I have another cake to bake.
Managed to get some washing dry on the line yesterday and have some out at the moment, but I think that I will get it in because the sky is getting quite grey
I am another who was upset that the cons got in with a majority, God help the poor, sick and disabled and our beloved NHS,
Must get the washing in, then dd's bf is going to bath the dog because he rolled in horse poo on his walk , smelly little urchin :eek:
Elona I did laugh about you looking Amish xxBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Afternoon all
Lots staff at work upset with the election results, me, I'm cynical enough to think it won't make much difference who is in power.
My twin DGC are 1 today, doesn't time fly, being a stingy grandma I've bought them cutlery sets each.
Have a good day everyone.

I swear I am going to turn into an old crazy dog lady surrounded by dogs !I was warned that terriers usually have one thing that seems to shut off their hearing when they see it, don't worry if you think he's ignoring you, he literally can't hear you. Just remove the thing, or remove you and the dog, his focus will turn back to you. All great til last night, when neighbour 1's cat was sat in neighbour 2's front garden. Can't brick up my windows, can't get remove the cat, can't remove us from our own house. None of the usual distractions worked, I could physically make him stop and sit for about three seconds then he was off again. Was advised to ignore him and when he realises the barking isn't making the cat go away, he'll stop. I shut all the windows, went outside and checked no-one could hear the racket and let him get on with it. He kept going for an hour – it was actually longer than that but I'd stopped counting - and only stopped when he'd worn himself out. I sat and read my book but really wanted to curl up in the corner and drink wine straight from the bottle :rotfl: I'm going to have a word with neighbour 2 and ask if they'd mind if I squirt water into their garden, near the cat, to try and get rid of it. They'll be fine with it I think, they hate that it keeps using his garden as a toilet. I'm going to seach for more terrier forums and see how other people have managed to sort this out.
I note Lyn's idea of the water spray - I can't really do that, as the dogs here aren't mine.:o
The worst these two do is "sing" at me - a sort of high-pitched chittering sound; Harvey does it when I pick up my coat for walkies, and Charlie does it when I start preparing their food.:D
They're going home tomorrow; the bungalow's going to seem v-e-r-y empty! If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon all,
I'm not surprised the Tories kept their place. I guessed they would through lack of decent opponents. I only chose who to vote for yesterday morning as I don't really agree with or trust any of them!
Elona - Thinking of you.
Usual day for me. Work, washing etc. DD popping home tomorrow to check I don't forget to take anything next week.
Popped into M&S this morning to buy a spare pair of tights for the Wedding. I don't usually wear them and knowing me I'll have a disaster with the one pair I have got. Also got a BB foundation, don't normally wear that either but thought I must try to look like a Mrs Lady in the Wedding photos!
Mince and Pasta for dinner tonight.0
