if you make a claim where your policy pays out and do not make a full recovery before renewal you will be negatively affected.
that includes non fault claims and 50/50 claims.

There are 'losses " - you reported them to your insurer (both vehicles sustained damage).
Not claiming is irrelevant to this.

The incident/loss remains as part of your history even though no claim ensued. (Though the third party has 6 years to instigate a claim against you)0
