Strange Amazon marketplace email

Hello.

I placed an order for some gardening gear 3 weeks ago through Amazon(market seller). The cost was about £3 and the delivery was by 29/04/2015.
Well that day arrived and no order turned up so I emailed them and later that day a reply came and said sorry we will despatch another lot to me asap.
I thought as they messed up my order would arrive next day but no. It turned up yesterday 1 week after they said they had posted it.
I left a seller review on Amazon saying all this and gave them 1 star.
Today I got an email from the seller saying sorry for this and if I remove my negative review first then they may refund me.
Has anybody had this before and what did they do.

Thanks

I had the same thing with them I purchased a polo shirt which had a stain on it. I was new to amazon at the time and left bad feedback. I had a email saying the same thing if I remove the bad feedback they will refund and I can keep the shirt, I removed the bad feedback and they refunded me in full. I guess its to stop any bad feedback

feedback there for a purpose.. can you remove, get refund, then re-rate them again?

Makes you wonder, how many times they have done that, to keep up their ''status'..

    Can you please clarify?

An item worth approx £3 is lost en route to you and when you complain to seller they arrange for a new one to be sent to you. that arrives 7 days later and you leave what amounts to a neg?

You say you expected it next day- why, is that what seller
guaranteed or something, for a £3 item?

Assuming you are not going to change your story suddenly, you appear to believe seller messed up because RM lost the item. Its obviously not only on eBay that sellers are up against it then.

I waited 14 days for the order to up before I asked where my order had got to.
The reply to my email the seller said they would post my order 1st class and it will be there on Thursday but it was not and turned up a week after with a 2nd class stamp on it.
I will not be changing my story as these are the facts. It shouldn't matter if it was a £3 order or a £235.55 order, I expect my order, like other peoples to arrive.
My question was has other people been asked to remove negative posts and been offered a refund.

I like the way the seller said they may refund it.

It is against amazon's policies as a seller to offer a bribe to remove negative feedback. However Amazon may see it as the seller resolving the buyers problem which is what they want the sellers to do.

If I were you as its only £3 I would phone Amazon and mention the email to them as they will have a copy of it as it goes through their system, they may issue a warning to the seller which can have more impact on them.

Bit harsh surely - the seller could be removed from Amazon for that and basically the issue has been that Royal Mail lost an order and the seller then posted out a new one.

I also like the way that you said that "they may issue a warning". Vagueness rules!! hahaha

The way you worded your post suggests that the poster, whom cannot really be considered in the wrong if they take either course of action, should either potentially get some money back or potentially gain some moral high ground. I'm not going to criticize either viewpoint and neither should you.

In fairness to the seller the 14 days you waited included a bank holiday weekend so would account for a slight delay on the second item.

In regards to the question though, I have never had it happen to me but I can understand why the seller has offered that. It was very harsh leaving a negative review for something out of their control, that they have already rectified at their cost. If they hadn't rectified or been difficult about it I could understand the negative but not for them doing the right thing.

Order placed 21st April and estimated delivery by 29th April. Order never arrived by the last day and that was when I contacted them. They said order will be sent 1st class that day(29/04/2015) to arrive 30th. It never but I got it on 6th May with a 2nd class stamp so it took 4 working days and a Saturday to get to my letter box.
I was only offered the "may refund" after I left the feedback and not when I asked where is my late order.
A few days after I placed my order it had not turned I looked on the sellers Amazon page and there was 4/5 bad reviews like mine about orders not turning up. When I went to leave my review on 6th May most of them had gone so I think they may have asked them to remove the bad reviews.

The seller contracted RM to deliver the item, Their contractor lost it so yes it is the sellers fault.

Do you say "I am not responsible for items lost in the post" on your ebay listings?
