I've used it today but had my browser open for a good few hours waiting.

    Waiting time has increased massively.

OK - they have given me a whopping £5 per month off my bill - for the next 10 months - I tried for £10 - I have been a loyal sky customer for 13years !
I also had to sign up for another 12 months contract ..

Ironically I got connected when I tried to access it when I thought I had lost connection when I was put on hold.

I think I accessed it through the general link and not through the cancellation link. The cancellation link never seemed to connect. If doing it this way if suggest you do it when you can just leave it hanging and do some other duties whilst you wait!

The loyalty is your problem. You need to cancel(not just suggest cancelling) to get better offers.

That's not necessarily always the case. Our Winback team (the outbound team who call after a cancellation has been processed) don't call every account - and if the cancellation goes through, your account still stays active on our system for 12 months after you leave - so you don't qualify to be a new customer for a year after you leave.

But very few good offers are made to people who just ring to ask for a deal. I cancelled, fully meaning to leave, as my tv was a freebie for migrating from O2 (I hadn't wanted tv) and the new offer was pathetic.

I only got one call, taken by my husband (not the account holder) who asked for another call as I was in hospital for the day, but nothing followed.

I did stay though, as when I called to ask about my phone/bb, I got a very good offer, which I accepted, then added tv as I was given 50% off.
