Bidding seems addictive to some people and common sense goes out of the window. I have items on bid with the identical item on buy it now yet people still bid higher than the BIN price - illogical!

why don't you mail the bidder and ask?

Any vouchers I've seen have all gone for less than their face value :) Which has always put me off selling any spare ones I had - I ended up using them for a suit for Mr Tine in the Burtons sale instead :) Reduced to £100 and then another £50 off thanks to PB vouchers :)
