MoneySaver Telecom - sold broadband

Hi, New to the boards and looking for some advice. My dad (not the most tech savy person) signed up to Money Saver Telecom (MST) for cheaper phone line. This was fine until we realised they were charging him from broadband as well, which he simply cannot get due to his location. He lives on a farm and does not have a sufficient phone line or any fibre cable to receive broadband. The phone line doesn't even offer up decent dial up speeds and for this reason he changed to mobile broadband some time ago.
Now he doesn't have any paper copies of the agreement with MST and claims it was all agreed over the phone, during which there was no mention of broadband. I have since emailed MST asking the remove the broadband service but they have not replied to any emails. I am now considering withholding payment until they remove the broadband and refund us for the now 3 to 4 months of broadband service. I have mentioned that they should have carried out a line speed check before setting up the broadband and that this check would have highlighted my dad cannot receive the service. Based on this I think I have a reasonably strong position but I would like to confirm on here if we have any sort of case?
Do providers have any sort of duty to their customers in this kind of case? Can I withhold payment based on this?
Apologies this is long winded and not the right place or question to ask.

If deal done on the phone, they should have a recording of call. Check website (if any), or Ofcom site for complaint procedure..
