First time switching to an upgrade, from Galaxy S3 (Currently got) want to get the S6 Edge,
Currently have the Samsung Galaxy s3
Bought it 2 year ago, from Carphone warehouse, with o2.
The 24 month contract has finished, and is now rolling.
What I currently Pay is £39 amonth.
1GB, unlimited calls, unlimited texts.
I am not on o2 refresh currently.
I want 128 GB, black, o2, would prefer not to pay an upfront cost (if that can be avoided)
a) would the tarrif generally be cheaper if I went back to carphone warehouse, or straight to o2?
b) If I i) Upgrade from this to a new upgrade phone......VS a Brand new contract,
does the upgrade turn out to be more cheaper per month?
vs a new contract?
do new contracts tend to be expensive, than the upgrade option?
c) What is the advantage /disadvantage of an upgrade to the s6, compared to the new contract ?
d) What should I typically be expected to pay per month, if I want these type of Specs on the s6?
128 Gb
Unlimited texts
Unlimited calls
10Gb Data
e) Any other tips/ and hints to watch out for? when getting this new s6 contract ?
(eg, it is cheaper to get it online, than from the store) ? or other tips ?
Thanks

(a) Just check both and compare? IMO you are likely to find a better deal at CPW or some other third party. There are many comparison sites, including at MSE, moneysupermaket, omio, uswitch, confused.com, .................
(b) again, you can easily check, but IMO for contracts new customers normally get better deals.
(c) with an upgrade you keep your old number. New contract means a new number, but reportedly, at O2 you can transfer (not port) your old number to a new contract.
(d) !!! !!!!!! !!!!! And it's "data"
(e) online IMO.0 -

having had a fiddle with the S6 they still have that damned Samsung overlay software that drags everything to snails pace.
That company just does not listen to its customers, the latest LG phones feel 3 or 4 times as fast to do the same things.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
TouchWiz is vastly improved over it's previous versions but I agree it does impact on what is otherwise a very nice phone (and that's coming from an Apple "fanboi/iSheep."
OP:
Looking at the CPW website as a new customer the S6 Edge in 128GB for Unlimited Calls/Texts and 10GB of data the 'cheapest' option is £129.99 upfront for £59 (before o2's annual RPI increases.)
Over at buy mobiles.net: http://www.buymobiles.net/contract/samsung-galaxy-s6-edge-128gb-black/ee-extra-20gb-54-99-24mths-24
They have the same phone on EE for £79.99 "upfront" for Unlimited Calls/Texts and 20GB of data.
I know Three and o2 have their respective VOIP apps but with EE you'd also get WiFi calling, too. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0
