Ryanair cutting its check-in fees

Ryanair has today lowered its airport check-in fees from €70 to €45 (online check-in is still free: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/beat-budget-airline-charges) in a bid to improve the experience it offers customers but is it enough to change your perception of the brand?

Why does anyone need to check in at the airport? This doesn't change my perception of the brand as it is already very positive - a low cost airline that gets me where I need to be.0

It seems rather pointless to me. The lazy and ignorant will still throw hissy fits at having to pay an extortionate €45 and the rest of us who are capable of following basic instructions won't care either way.0

Can you only still check in 7 days before the flight or can you do it 30 days before?
That would be a better move for me.0 -

Seven days if you don't pay to choose your seat. Before that it is £5 (ish?) to pick your seat and check in earlier.0 -

That was my exact thought as well.0 -

last time we used the app to check in for the way back and was brilliant so no issue with 7 days for me.
just paid 143 quid for 4 of us to go to copenhagen and sweden for two weeks, and you can't beat that. The futures bright the future is Ginger0 -
I was just making the point that I would prefer to print out my boarding cards for outward and inward flights before going on holiday not trying to find somewhere to print abroad.
This would cost Ryanair nothing and make me consider them for future flights - something I have not done so far due to adverse publicity about their charges.0 -

It would cost them the money they are currently getting from people who are away 7+ days and pay to prebook seats because they don't want to think about printing boarding passes on their holiday.0 -

But you know better than to believe the headlines, opting to do your own research instead?
I can't think of any Ryanair destination where you'd struggle to find a printer - any decent hotel will do it for you for free.0 -
Thank you for your views - I will stay with Easyjet and Jet2 for now.0
