Anyone had any luck getting through to all in one finance regarding the drive happy warranty via carcraft? I currently make monthly payments to them and want to know where I stand but been on hold for hours trying to get through and it's a premium rate number.

Should I cancel the DD in he mean time?

I would definitely stop holding on for hours on a premuim rate number.

Quick question, are you making your payments directly to All in One? Or are your payments collected by a third party?

Directly to all in one finance. To be honest I didn't know I took it out and went through all sorts with them. I personally believe I was miss sold it and it ended up defaulting. I eventually got proof of me signing the document but I'm convinced it was sold as something else and I stupidly didn't read and signed. Anyway paid it up to date and pay 25 a month now.

I left them a voicemail but still no contact. I've also handed the car back and it's getting the collect and inspect tomorrow. So not sure if that changes anything.

Rang the carcraft helpline number that was set up and they refered me the site which tell us nothing.
  • Hi there

Apparently pra are now taking this payment instead of all in one finance.

Wishing I hadn't got the drive happy guarantee. As it us now void, I have no idea where I stand. My loan was to cover the policy, but as the service no longer exists I don't know what happens now.

    No idea who to contact.

Only knew car craft went bust as heard on the radio. Have had absolutely no communication from anyone.

Wish I had never got involved with these guys. Shame as I actually got a nice car!

This is written on the carcraft website:
I have a finance loan to pay for my DHP, can I cease payments?
The administrators of Carcraft are not in a position to comment in respect of these loans as they were not provided by Carcraft. Please contact your finance provider.

    Manchester Evening News says this:
What happens to customers with a Drive Happy Plan?
As circumstances will differ, customers concerned about their Drive Happy Plan should contact carcraft@uk.gt.com for guidance.

I have emailed them above and will update with my findings (I expect the response will be along the lines of the website). My finance for DHP change from All-in-one finance to Aktiv Kapital (they must have bought the finance agreement from All-in-one) and then more recently to PRA Group. PRA Group won't care, they bought the debt and will claim it back however they can.

I just want to know if I can cancel the finance agreement based on not getting the service that I'm paying for. I don't want to be spending almost £2000 over the next 3 years for something I won't get. The roadside cover that they're "trying to make arrangements for" is not what I took out the package for, it was the warranty and servicing, which no one is going to offer for nothing.

i already sent a mail to that address and got a reply saying this finance was not with carcraft and i would have to contact the finance provider for any queries relating to this. Apart from a written letter the only other way ive been able to contact them is on an expensive 0844 number which i was on hold to for various times and left around 4 or 5 voicemails to contact me back and im yet to hear back.

I dont think anyone should be tied to these contracts and if the finance has been sold on but we no longer get the cover we should have some rights to refuse the new agreement as it no longer does what it was purchased for.

Anyway be good to hear your findings as the lack of contact from either party is not great considering its been a few weeks if not more now and the only way ive found out is by facebook or google.

It entirely depends on the wording of the finance agreement. It the finance agreement is in effect just a personal loan then you will be tied to it.

If the finance agreement mentions the services that are being provided as consideration then there is a good chance that the contract can be repudiated.

This has happened many times before across and number of different industries - the classic example are training courses with loans being provided to cover the cost then the training company going bust. Usually the finance agreements are completely separate, the reason being that the companies are not able to obtain funding themselves from capital markets if there is any "performance risk" against the supplier in their finance agreements.
