Selling Unwanted Upgrades
Hi!
I just wondered if people had any easy ways to get rid of unwanted upgrades. I've got a stack phones from my business upgrade which we no longer need. All unopened and in sealed boxes. I've tried listing one of them on eBay twice, and both time I was hit by fraudulent buyers. Are there any other ways I can sell them and avoid the fraud?
Thanks,
Kerry

There is a lot of pitfalls in buying a new phone from someone as I found out myself. I bought a brand new sealed phone from an individual and after a week the phone stopped working as the phone is now on a blacklist having been reported stolen. This is a common scam at the moment. Good luck with selling but I have learnt my lesson.Hi!

I'd highly recommend avforums classifieds. Sold & bought a number of high value phones on there a few times and never had any problems. You are less likely to get scammed on there than the likes of fleabay. Its also free!0 -
Gumtree. You get cash and don't have to post the phones, but be prepared for loads of chancers offering you 50% of the asking price (in cash! lol)0

CEX is also an option0

what about selling to Mazuma or such website? or your local free ads paper?I love a bargain. Now mortgage and debt free. hurray!!:smileyhea0

In what way were the buyers fraudulent on eBay? You send the phone by RD only when you are paid, and you log the IMEI number and let them know that you have logged it. Where's the risk as a seller? No free lunch, and no free laptop

Also if you use Gumtree, put in the add that you will accept calls but not texts. Experience has taught me that many people seem to make a hobby of bugging phone sellers with stupid offers or swaps by text that they do not do when speaking person to person.
The majority are just time wasters just getting some sick kicks with inclusive texts.

When placing a small ad like this, set up a virtual landline number on Sipgate. When the item is gone you can just abandon it, and a landline is far less likely to be sent a text. Also if you use Gumtree, put in the add that you will accept calls but not texts.
