'Safe Seat'

I have a query. I'm told where I am (South Norfolk) I'm in a safe Conservative Seat. Does this essentially mean my vote is irrelevant?

Apparently their is a website where you can 'swap' your vote with someone in another constituency where it might make a difference - for example if you were a tory but you wanted to help a lib dem beat a labour candidate in another constituency where the greens have no chance you could offer to vote green where you are in return for a green voting lib dem in the labour / lib dem marginal.
    I think....

If there's sufficient apathy amongst the electorate then probably yes.

    It certainly looks safe.

So your one little vote probably won't make a difference. But if everybody in South Norfolk came to that conclusion, no one would vote, and then there would we be?:)

In my constituency it's worse, my preferred candidate was third with 16% of winners vote, who in turn had over twice the runner up's and no Monster Raving Loony to vote for.

From the standard of debate I've heard. The Green party fulfils the criteria to replace the late Lord Sutch's old party.

  • it may well be the case by friday morning that the number of votes labour or the tories get nationally regardless of the number of seats may come into the equation regarding who has the legitimate right to form a govt
