They're only part of the food chain and only a couple will remain until next year's cycle.

Why don't you just leave them be?
Just a small percentage will become frogs and they will be preyed on as well, so very few will survive to adulthood.
What few will survive, you will hardly notice and they are good for the garden.
Frogs all over the world are in serious decline, so do them a favour and let them live.

Your garden will be great with all the frogs. No slugs eating your plants! Plus hardly any of the thousands will survive. just leave them.

Funny my pond is raised , I have a low ( about 12 inches) seating all round , Frogs still get in ,,,,,,and out!

youv just got to use a bit of common sense

Watched a good sized frog get into our raised pond - that's about 2'6" and no seating area. One leap into the fuchsia pot, three to get up the plant (with some very unorthodox landing positions and a few minutes pause on each to get his breath back and re-orientate), then a final leap of faith to the pond surround.

No chance of tadpoles with swimming bottomless pits for food that we have in there though ...

dont assume tour tadpoles will become frogs....you could end up with toads....

You clearly have a breeding pair who possibly return on an annual basis and spend the rest of the year dare I suggest living in the undegrowth of your garden or close by presently.....

Having had toads in the past after a few weeks the tadpole if the mature and lots dont make it will soon disperse around the area.

Get rid of tadpoles? Internet forums are usually full of posts about how to attract frogs to your garden!
Whats the point of a pond if it doesn't have wildlife in?

Most people would be very happy to have them. If you really don't then advertise them on gumtree or something and people will come and rescue them.

Frogs are great to have in the garden and they won't all stay there anyway they will disperse all over the place. I'd seriously reconsider if I were you, frogs are not doing well at the moment and need all the help they can get.

Based on advice given here, I decided not to do anything with them anymore.
Let me see how many actually turns to frog or toad.

    Good plan
Since the chap whose garden backs onto mine got rid of his pond the slug population has increased ten fold - I'd see maybe three frogs in total over the year- I know which I'd rather have !!

You will never know how many survive to become frogs. But it will be very few. It is rare to see a frog anyway. As they prefer to be in the ground cover.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Well done. A thank you from me.
That's good news for the frogs/toads and bad news for the slugs.
As others have said, you might see the odd one or two about. but normally you will just hear them croaking, and not have a clue where they are.
