Road tax - BCA auctions
My husband bought a van recently at BCA car auctions. When I check if it is taxed on the DVLA site it is showing as being taxed for 6 months but now I'm heading about the government making fortune fining people as road tax is not transferable now. Is it taxed and if not how do we fix this as we don't have the certificate of ownership yet?

if you didnt get new keeper supplement then to tax you would need to fill in a v62 and pay the £25 fee plus road tax at a parcipitating post office, keep the receip in the van because it can take over a week for tax to show on the dvla webbysite0 -
READ the DVLA website, there is no "other version"
It will tell you very clearly indeed the vehicle needs taxing the same day it changes keeper regardless of what the online check shows.
Get it wring and he will have to pay a penalty charge and the back tax.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -

Thanks everyone, have taxed it now using the new keeper section. Just hope I've managed it before a fine's been issued.0

I've just bought a car and was able to pay the vehicle excise duty online from the DVLA website before I left the sellers house. All you need is the code number from the new keeper section of the V5.
I'd say you will be okay if you are within the month you bought, it as you will have paid the excise duty for the whole month. If you bought it in April (or even earlier) then you could have a problem if you have only paid VED from 1st of May.0
