I am reading and backing you all the way. You sound more positive already and blimey that puts a whole new perspective on bad neighbours!

I have had to buy DS new school trousers and pay £20 for a new school trip so far this week. Sigh.

Thank you Fermi for moving me to my new home so quickly:T
Wanna leap out my monitor and move me to my other new home with similar speed? Ha, if I could dream.

I'm so chuffed to see so many readers...and I don't mind new stalkers here either mum2one. Im also certain you and I crossed paths in my previous life here on MSE? Your name is familiar. I hope I dont let you down with my lack of consistency.

Today has been a real rollercoaster. I had what Mrpolkadot (who we know here at home as Lordbob) and I called a "wigg" (or I "wigged" or I "am wigging") over a text conversation I had with my dad (who we call The ancient beach bum) this morning.

I didn't realise how much I miss him at times like this, basically I told him all the stuff I've told you guys since I started posting-it's been a while.

Then I did the nursery run. It was announced that *friend* said I need knick knicks-not those!" as I pulled out a pull up for DD (Princess Polkadot-her biggest brothers choice). And so she wore knick knicks to school...and stayed dry :j:j:j We've had one small accident since, but wont break my neck over it :D

Then I went shopping and had another victory-so here goes:

I took two days out of the bag because I didn't use any yesterday and knew if we were going to make it through the weekend without going back, Id need three bottles of milk (two in already) and we needed loo roll.

Before I went, I went through the freezer and discovered we still have some pork escalopes DH likes to have just on their own. They cook really quickly and they'll get DH and I through the week end. We're working at the new house (with no cooking facilities) so we'll just pop them in the oven quickly along with some chicken nuggets and and potato stars, or spaghetti. I also bought some Houmous for DH and I, the kids will have chocolate spread sandwiches picnic style over there.

So I'll admit to buying "fussy kids" meals, but I still managed to do 5 days worth of said meals, 2 lunches for Lordbob and I, 2 loaves of bread, 18 pints of milk and 24 loo rolls for under £28:p

What I think Ill do is add another bag to my binder for "balance brought forward", and at the end of the week-any coins left in the bags will go in the sealed pot. Any notes left will go into the bbf bag so that when I have enough, I can do a batch cook plan and grocery list and head to Makro or bookers for meat.

Does that sound like a reasonable plan?

Also, just with regards to whats okay here...I dont want too much repetition in my own record keeping as I like to write stuff out. I guess you'll learn more about that system which is already effective for me...oh dear Im on a tangent :o

What I was TRYING to ask is, can I use my shiny new debt free diary as a spending diary? So for the first little while, can I copy out my receipts? I know some might say its not effective, that I should stick to final totals and such, but I find writing stuff out commits it to memory, so I'll learn the prices Im paying as I start to explore new shopping habits.

And if that is okay to do, the other catch is that you're not allowed to yell at me about accommodating fussy eaters -at least for a little while until I get that batch cook plan going *deal* Speaking of, we added scrambled eggs and toast to the three meal rota last night and it was heartily enjoyed by all-so I guess breakfast for supper will be allowed in Polkadot Palace.

How do I change the name of my thread? I want to change it to something more befitting of a diary.
