I just wanted to say hi to someone on here as I am feeling a bit down in the dumps and didn't know where to post it. Basically we have had a bit of a bad time with some money that we receive and now we have practically nothing to live off!
So, today I have been trying to tidy, sort out and sell as much as I possibly can in the house to make some pennies. So far I have made about £25 and my husband sold his console yesterday too, so that was a big help.
I've also made a start sorting out our file and paperwork, trying to get our lives and my head in order!
Finished the washing and drying, need to hang stuff up now.
Hoovered upstairs and need to bring it downstairs, but have sore joints at the moment so have to wait until husband comes back from work.
Have sent daughter to the charity shop with 3 bags of stuff that weren't really sell-able - yes the charity shops are open today in our town!
Felt a bit glum.
Made a cup of tea.
That's about it so far! x0 -

Had to copy and paste my post from weekend thread as so inspired thought it might inspire someone else!La_escocesa wrote: »Hi everyone
Nice to catch up with everyone
Today I am on a clean up mission!! Doing a 10-min challenge - 10 mins in every room to begin with - 90 mins around the house and then start on the places that need 2 rounds!! Wish me luck!!
Money-makings wise... I've written out a list of money-making ideas and going to review this later when I've got a nice clean house!!
OH is working today - 3 clients :T Which is a blessing considering that's how many he used to get a week :T
Catch up soon!
La E check out konMari method for clearing.
OMG just discovered it last night/today and have alredy cleared and sorted my larder - room of hellishness most of the time. Now can walk in, see what foods are where on shelves, produce stored logically on separate shelves (i.e. tins, snacks, rice & pasta, bread items, baking items, drinks) cleaning products all stored and organised in one place. Sorted out kitchen cupboards (except pan cupboard for some reason, and 3 high cupboards).
Have also sorted out my underwear & pyjamas' drawers :T Have a couple of boxes for CS in car ready to drop off tomorrow. Think I will sort out my tops as well :T Party hard at my house

Hello Frugal Friends,
Well, not much money saving going on this weekend. Not bad like in the Spendy Years (decades), but guests staying (however lovely) always puts up living costs at least to some extent. So, today has been 'Getting The House Back To Normal' day. 2 loads of bed linen drying outside on the line & another load waiting for an overnight wash when the following day's forecast is not for all-day rain! The only other piece of money-saving activity today has been...........
**The Grand Leftovers Enquiry**
I've been through the fridge & pantry and have made a list:
*1 large container home-made slow-cooked pulled pork
*14 cheesy rolls (like sausage rolls, only veggie - Delia - v nice!)
*6 bread rolls
*2 sliced loaves (now split into 4 halves & frozen)
*2 quarter-pounders
*2 sausages
*1 portion blackberry & apple crumble
*2 portions Key Lime Pie
*1 1/2 bags posh crisps
*1/2 a bag of wine gums (?)
*6 cans Waitrose diet cola (I like this better than the big brands & it's cheaper too)
*3/4 pack of ham
*4 sandwiches
*Half a tub of olives
*Lots of orange juice (I don't usually buy it)
*Tub of salad, plus an additional half a bag of mixed leaves.
*8 BBQ chicken wings
*6 home baked biscuits
*3/4 big tub of coleslaw
Also, weirdly (knowing mr f & B-i-L as I do), there appears to be beer left. They must have been slacking......though a quick investigation of the wine-rack shows that inroads were made there, so maybe not sickening for something after all.......
So, lots of opportunities for using up leftovers, which is becoming one of my specialist subjects as I hate food waste & throw out hardly any food at all, except for the occasional rogue lemon or satsuma which wilfully decides to turn into blue fur overnight. Ooops, must rush, got a phone call.
Cheers,

Hi all, New here but doing my best. Quite pleased because I have made a minced beef hotspot with the only meat we have in the house, the last 3 potatoes and some rather scrappy veg from the bottom of the fridge. If I had gone to the local shop I would have spent a tenner.
Been slowly decluttering our messy study but feeling a bit poorly so taking it steady.0 -
So, today has been 'Getting The House Back To Normal' day.
I know the feeling, my friend visited today and before his arrival I grabbed a big Ikea bag and cleared the sitting room of things we'd rather he didn't see: pile of undies, scruffy sofa blanket, my cuddly toy etc. Then spend a few minutes restoring them after he'd been. Also swapped over the table and sofa so we could sit at the table in natural light while we looked at a laptop and some papers together and then had to restore this after he'd left.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
:starmod: Darn! Kettle has just sprung a leak and died.
Better get a saucepan and lid out.

I just found a tenner! This has never happened to me before. I only commented on someone else saying they'd found one a little while earlier so how weird.
I found a penny first. So do we now all believe the find a penny pick it up, luck was the reason for finding the £10" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D
