Bank Holiday: Monday 4th May - what small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

    Thanks for the start ziggy

Been awol over the weekend but I've been a very busy girl and not really had to seconds to spare. This is kinda my weekend update x

    # Got someone to put up my TV up on the wall, with a bracket I've had for about 2 months
    # veg plot has been dug over for me. I'm now starting to remove all the rubbish and break it down section by section. It's like a landfill! In one small section I found 4 scanners, a action figure, loads of plastic, 4 marbles and lots of twisted bits of metal. It's going to be a ongoing project to get it all right. Bit by bit.
    # planted two strawberry plants
    # picked up some seeds to plant went patch is ready
    # night out Saturday, hadn't received overtime two weeks ago so I got them to pay me with beer! Enough for me and my friend. Lifts all there and back. Watched boxing for free, no £££,s spent.
    # friend brought little ones a new pair of trainers each, bless her
    # been giving free compost bin and stepping stones for plot
    # garden made childproof with gate and lock on side alley on house
#ys items for stirfry last night. Meal costed .73p, however it was so nice I ate the lot and didn't save any for another day
    # squeezed in some over time Saturday morning (3 hrs)
    # took j2o home as staffs and popped in fridge. Will try and remenber to get a free every week (don't like taking to many with working the quiet shifts)

Morning ziggy & JoJo happy BH Monday to everyone :j

So been up since 5 with dgd! But have been very productive! Been reading a thread about KonMari method of tidying/decluttering - just what we've been saying we need to do to make our lives easier/less stressful. So far have organised all paperwork - and thrown out LOADS of old stuff. Organised food shelves in pantry (the other end is a BIG task, so leaving that for now!

[STRIKE]Finished cleaning old fridge/freezer. Will get oh to help me to put it in the garage later.[/STRIKE]

[STRIKE]Load of washing in machine. Will hang it out later[/STRIKE]

Going to reorganise tops in a bit
    [STRIKE]
Make up chicken rice dish for lunches/snacks
    [/STRIKE]
Take pictures of a few bits to put on ebay

[STRIKE]bag up items to drop off at CS[/STRIKE]

go for a nice walk later

Might quickly sew a bag to store carrier bags in

take down bed in dgd's room and store in loft

    Finish tidying up upstairs

Ok think that's loads! Have a great day x

Dnm hey I've read a little of that thread, then googled some of the folding techniques for clothes. I've been rearranged a drawer at time and sending clothes to charity shop each week. Will proberly do more once on top of everything in the house again x

The gig last night was brilliant and though we weakened and went to the kebab shop it was closed so they saved us from ourselves :rotfl: luckily I had defrosted some fingers rolls and bought a tin of hot dogs so we had those instead.

I woke with a headache but I think it's more to do with referred pain from an ongoing neck problem than the one pint of cider I drank last night (I am such a lightweight nowadays!) I've taken some painkillers and know the exercises that will relieve it but I've been excused visiting the Inlaws on account of it.

I'm meeting DH at my mums later as she has a small bit of DIY that needs doing. My DS came home earlier and I still have £20 worth of vouchers in my purse so may take him out for lunch, we could have lunch here but going out will mean he can't avoid talking to me :D I find the best places to find out what's going on in his life is either in the car or if we eat out alone.

I'm not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow but at least it's a short week :T
