They could give you a very small credit limit.


I would have gone for the Annual Fee £25 Amex cashback card, because it sounds like you will be spending a lot. The 5% on the extra £500 is £25, which covers the first year's fee. The on going 1.25% cashback is better if you intend to spend.

I was given a £15k limit, although my salary is higher than yours but I do have other cards with reasonable limits too.

I believe they will look at your credit file and other sources of credit that you are using or have available and make their assessment on this and your past history of paying debts.
