Then leave any cleaning solution on for a while to let it also seep in.

I have been doing that, and scrubbing it in. I have been using this http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/simple-solution-stain-and-odour-remover-4ltr but it's quite expensive and the few times I've used it so far it hasn't made a great deal of difference. I'll use up what I've got and try the other brand mentioned.

    I can really recommend Mistral.

My dalmatian became unable to hold his urine through illness.

Every morning the kitchen floor was awash with urine which seeped under the kitchen units. The smell lingered on after cleaning with other cleaners as it had soaked in.

However, Mistral cleared the smell, thank goodness.

I now keep a spray bottle ready mixed to use a general cleaning agent for kitchen worktops etc.

Thanks Sheramber that's great to know.

  • Is it too late to re-train the dog that walks are when they go to the loo and not in the garden?

Generally it's really not a good idea to have a dog who won't 'go' in your garden (if you have one)

It can lead to a whole host of issues when they get old and can't manage long walks - my neighbour now has to put her dog in her car and drive to the end of our street (literally a couple of mins walk), park and take her dog into the park as he won't go at home. OK when you actually want to go for a walk but having to do it several times a day when he needs a pee, it's really a PITA

I'm going to give the Mistral a bash too :)

Maisie has a habit of peeing in one spot in the garden (until it becomes horrid and stinky!) and then moving to another spot. I'm currently chucking hot soapy water on it but looking for a better alternative.

Do you use the Standard or Premium one? ta

There was only one available when I bought mine so I presume it is now called 'standard'.

Amazon seem to have some good offers on it at present.

As I mentioned before she is 15 years old and too old to go for walks as she has arthritis. We have a garden but she can't always be taken up there and so sometimes has to go on the concrete.
