Help! Daughter put old O2 sim in to her new EE iPhone 6.
Got brand new iPhone 6 last monday. Now locked to O2 (getting sim not valid message when put EE sim into iPhone) - tried to request unlock by O2 but they don't do iPhone 6 yet. Then tried to explain this was done in error and phone is not theirs but belongs to EE - first directed to ask EE. Sent back to O2. O2 then directed me to Apple. They say its O2. Apple also suggest I cancel! An easy mistake to make but what do I do now?

Only O2 can unlock an iPhone locked to O2, so any chasing after EE or Apple is wasted effort.
Where was the phone bought from?====0 -
from mobiles.co.uk0

I've asked O2 4 times so far - how do I go about persuading them to unlock?0

As it's a very unusual situation and they have no obligations to do this, it makes no sense to deal with frontline CS. Only someone much higher can help you.0

So how do I get higher? Ask CS to speak to a manager? Send an e-mail to ?0

Search for Executive Office contact details.
In the meantime submit a formal complaint in writing or by a e-mail.0 -
tell mobilesuk it gone faulty lol. not working.0

You have 2 choices, send an email to the CEO's office at O2 and explain what had happened and ask for help (make it plain you are aware it's your fault and are asking for a goodwill gesture to help).
Or be slightly dishonest and send it back to mobiles.co.uk as faulty (the supplied sim doesn't work) or change of mind if you are still within your 14 days, I wouldn't feel too bad about doing so, the root cause of this problem is the stupid decision made by CPW (who own mobiles.co.uk) to have this first sim inserted locks the handset nonsense.====0 -
I think this stupid decision was made by Apple, not by CPW.
As the networks have access to the locking database, they can easily use this access for locking handsets without this stupid system invented by Apple.0
