Well my plan was to 'get rid' of whoever is the 'landlord'.

Hehe, I think that would involve a rather different sort of "contract" ;)

I asked about getting this removed from the contract, but the other sides solicitors has refused and stated it is an outright restriction. Annoying.

However, I drove past the development earlier today, and of the say 20 homes that have been finished and moved in, about 15 already have dishes!

Our house, built in c1935, has a clause preventing communication receiving devices being put on the outside of the building. Totally ignored by everyone.

If I had a clause like this I would without a doubt have to troll the neighbourhood and put a train mail catching arm on the back of the house:

My parent's development had a similar clause when they purchased their property 13 years ago. There's not many left without a dish now ;)

There was also another clause about not changing the colour of the front and garage doors. Doesn't look like that has been adhered to by everyone, either.

We had a similar clause on a development (not new build) I lived in a few years ago. The freeholder sent around a few threatening letters, then we returned home from work one day to find they'd removed and taken away all the sky dishes. Many households were left paying Sky subscriptions for a service they then couldn't receive, as they were still in contract. I guess some freeholders will be stricter than others!

So the restriction is only on the front elevation-so can you not site the dish on any of the other walls? The dish needs to face approx south east, so unless the frontage faces exactly that way, it can be sited on the rear or side walls.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I have a barratt one, it said no sheds, no sky dishes the builders don't care
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Afraid not, it's actually a restriction on the whole property, not just the front.

But I think we would get away with it anyway.

I live on a 10 yr old private estate and we all have it documented that no satellite dishes are allowed.

Is it ignored? Yes, every other house (if not more) on my estate have satellite dishes and have done so for the last decade with no comeback.
