  • I will never use nuclear

No company offering green tariffs is 100% additional renewable supply, its simply a trading scheme. All leccy that comes down the grid is a mix of everything including nuclear. You pay an extra premium price for your leccy and they give some to companies that contribute to a fund that will be used to support new renewable energy developments.
    I will never use nuclear

    - you as you read this are using 23.88% of today's nuclear generated electricity of 6.87GW
    - you are using nuclear and will continue to do so unless as 'macman' says you are not connected to the National Grid
    - you would need a substantial sized wind and solar farm and a dirty carbon based diesel backup generation system

Your supply comes via the DNO and Grid, probably from the nearest power station. So if you happen to live near Sizewell or Hinkley Point, you'll be getting power from nuclear generation regardless of who your billing supplier is.
Dont forget the French Inter Connector. ;)

    Good point-of which a full 75% is nuclear-generated.
